So, my antivirus software removed the hair recolor utility tool. Gotta work with the cheat engine cheat table. Yay. This may take a few drinks.

Hopefully this makes sense.
Download hair color tool, unzip, yada yada...

Right click daihaircolorutility and click run as administrator or it may not work (my freakin anti virus *drink*).

Select the race/gender you are going to play (ie Elf Female).

Start DAI and get to the CC.
Alt tab out of DAI and click on the Hair utility that is still open.

Click 'Initialize' and wait for it to detect the face.

Profit. Pick any color from the drop down menu.

Okay. So when I'm going to boot up a character, I go and open the mod manager. I deselect the mods I'm not using for this playthrough and click the merge button. On my computer the merged file gets named something like patch.daimod

Next time I want to use different mods I go and delete patch.daimod, go back into the Mod Manager, and create a new merge file.

I'm just wondering if this is the only and most effective way, or if I could store different merged files in seperate folders.

I can't start DAI, at all. I always get an error message. 

 

I already repaired the game. To no avail. Then I restarted my PC. Same result. 

 

I don't use mods (yet) and have no idea what is causing this. (my NVIDIA driver had a update yesterday, but after repairing DAI, it worked without problems)

Could it be, because I had a weird problem with Alt + Tab yesterday? (I was alt tabbing out of DAI, to look at reference pics of Bido, to get his nose right and after that I couldn't get the game back to fullscreen until I went back to the main menu  )

Bolded is an unnecessary step. This is where I'm confused because patch.daimod just ensures mods will work with patched DAI. It doesn't get changed when merging.   I'm sorry I still don't quite understand what's going down here.

Oh! When I was taught to mod, I thought I was told that when I pressed merge, if I hadn't deleted the old patch.daimod it would duplicate and I wouldn't know which was which. I thought that file contained the mods.

I'd have at least 50 patch.daimod files by now then. We're just stuck with enabling/disabling and merging mods every time.

Sorry, I meant all drivers on the computer, not just ones related to graphics or video. That way you know all your drivers are up to date, and it might just be a case of an outdated driver causing havoc.

Back up your saves, just in case, to a separate memory drive.

Ah, okay. My PC just made an update a few days ago and NVidia yesterday, so everything should be up-to-date. 

 

I just did. Copied the save folder to my extern hard drive. Now to deinstall-reinstall  *sighs*

So, has anyone ever kept the blue tinted lips in the 4th elf preset face? I'm debating my thoughts on this elf.

 

I have with my most recent elf but she's just at the beginning of the game to be there when I need her so I haven't seen her most normally used light yet. Though I think she looks alright didn't go too terribly far off the preset though since I'm not good a face sculpting.
