Unlucky. Well, I am going to enjoy my brief holiday with a pint of cider or two.

TIL: My child would rather wear a pair of nice-looking shoes that are sopping wet to school, than an old beat-up pair, that are comfy and dry.

That deserves a drink...
My favorite jacket is hardly good-looking, but it keeps me warm, dry, and not giving a **** about the weather.

Well, I did laugh like a madman this one day a year or so ago when it was raining like hell and I was returning home.
I was absolutely wet on the outside, of course. Comfy dry under the jacket.
The rain felt... oddly liberating on that day. Like it brought freedom.

The dark? Sure. It's awesome. Unless the other bunch of dudes got Gen III night vision and you got a Chemlight. A sole blue Chemlight. Stops being fun that moment.

Do you guys not have bank holidays?
Nope, as Royness already stated. These are the only real holidays that exist here in Freedomland, subset Missouriland. And just because a holiday exists, there is no mandate that it is some sort of vacation day from work. That is totally up to the individual employers.
New Year's Day Friday, January 1, 2016 Federal and State
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Monday, January 18, 2016 Federal and State
Lincoln Day Friday, February 12, 2016 State only
Washington's Birthday Monday, February 15, 2016 Federal and State
Truman Day (Observed) Monday, May 9, 2016 State only
Memorial Day Monday, May 30, 2016 Federal and State
Independence Day Monday, July 4, 2016 Federal and State
Labor Day Monday, September 5, 2016 Federal and State
Columbus Day Monday, October 10, 2016 Federal and State
Veterans Day Friday, November 11, 2016 Federal and State
Thanksgiving Day Thursday, November 24, 2016 Federal and State
Christmas Day (Observed) Monday, December 26, 2016 Federal and State
You notice what isn't on there? President's Day, because it's not a real holiday. It's just something stores and whatnot "celebrate" for big sales to sucker people out of their money.

I think the difference is, the english page has absolutely all holidays on it (eg. it has Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, while the German page has only Easter Monday)
Tho my fav Swiss Holiday is das Sächsilüüte.
