I made rajas poblanas. I miss Los Angeles! My favorite restaurant in the whole world is Mercado on 3rd & Fairfax, which serves this dish, along perfect salty margaritas.

Anyone in LA needs to go to Mercado! I swear it's like a utopia. The service is so fast! The margaritas are so excellent.

They have a monkey skull decal on the exterior and a bunch of skulls lying around. So cool!

Long may Dragon Age Inquisition reign, the best game that is and ever will be.  *raises his chalice to the ceiling in salute...promptly sneezes*

I feel so much shame. I posted a bunch of political comments on facebook.

I usually don't but I just.... I indulged.

Now I feel shame.

Political posts on facebook are dumb. I know. I look down on them. I judge them

Now I look down on myself.

Ugh. I need margaritas.

I've never had it. And I live in South Texas.. Mexican food galore.

Of course, here it's Tex Mex.. lots of meat and tomato dishes.

There are days that I have to take a few deep breaths but I normally welcome your input and really think you have a...unique...way of looking at the world.  I also recognize that DA I, despite being my favorite, does have a lot of flaws to it probably is not a game for everyone and my deep unabiding love I have for it is deeply personal to me and I don't expect everyone else to have this same experience.  Though I do know a few people who were helped by the game the way the game helped me.

I have a deep abiding hatred of the main game and a deep abiding love for the Trespasser DLC I must say.

Oh ho ho ho!

I just bought the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack from Amazon. Can't believe I didn't have it already. I usually just listened to it on youtube.

The feels got too strong. I needed the whole album proper. :)

People keep comparing the Suicide Mission theme to the Dread Wolf Theme, like they're a tie in best Bioware scores ever composed.

Hhmmm. I am kind of leaning toward Dread Wolf theme..... but.... nah. They're a tie.

I will continue to obsess and compare.

It's not that unique... or so I thought. I even enjoy stories LIKE it... epic/high fantasy like Tolkien. But even that is widely criticized in the literary world if you stepped out of the fanbase.

I don't even think it's that good in relation to Bioware's other stuff like this (like DAO). That still had origins and avoided outright "chosen one" stuff. Contrary to popular opinion, RPGs are not good for chosen ones. In fact, they started in PnP, where you'd get laughed at for writing a story like this. It would mean that only one person in the group had importance. Now I understand in CRPGs, it's single player and you can focus on one protagonist.. and can write "special" characters.. but Bioware's been more clever about it before.

Cruisin' down the freeway at 90 mph with Suicide Mission playing at full volume. Those were the days.

I must be terribly uncritical of games, or something.

Tresspasser is what put it over the top for me as my favorite game of all time.  Up till then it was probably my second favorite game.

Hmmm Suicide Mission.  by far actually.  I really, really, liked the music in DA I and I really really liked the DW theme, but the Suicide Mission theme, and the entire score for that mission, was simply magnificent.

I didn't say your opinion of DA I was unique I was reffering to some of the other opinions you have. :P  Sorry for the confusion.  My fault this time.

And yet I felt more like a Chosen One in Origins then I ever did in Inquisition.  In Origins you were essentially handed the keys to the castle from the very beginning.  The Inquisitor had to fight for every single scrap they were given at first.

No you weren't. Every character practically had two origins.. the beginning and then Ostagar. And you were a mere soldier who survived that. Not some chosen one. And you got nowhere except for Flemeth. Even down to her telling how the battle plan was laid out.

I just don't have any tolerance for it. So it brings out the criticism. I don't do it to everything. I'm too old and grumpy for stories like DAI.

The Inquisitor had to fight for every single scrap they were given at first.

Um. What?

You're a prisoner for five seconds and then suddenly you're the "Herald of Andraste". While you don't get the official title of Inquisitor until Skyhold, all decisions are left up to you until that point. It's just "unofficial" beforehand.

Additionally, there is never any struggle. Corypheus can easily kill you in in your fart shall burn, but instead spends that time preaching "evil villain" bullshit to you.

Solas tells you about Skyhold, but you get the credit for the find and just like that, you have an awesome base of operations.

While the same is true for Origins.. You start off, get put into a bad situation then have no choice but to join the GWs, after that traitorous wretch Logain does his thing it's just you and Alistair, but for some reason the senior warden leaves everything up to you which makes no sense at all. Even Morrigan points it out and has a laugh.. So yeah, they're about on par when it comes to "being special" and having everything "handed to them on a silver platter" except I find Origins tries to be a bit more convincing about "struggle" throughout the plot.
