Edit: Tho I have to add, we get most shows from Germany, dubbed in German. (there's a difference between German and Swiss-German)

 

Another Edit: By "we" I mean where I live (Canton Zurich), Swiss from Frigourg/Geneve etc. probably get their shows dubbed in French from France.

But french was, after standard-german, the first other language I learned in school. But Je ne parle pas français and that was it with my french

My english is much better than my french and I had my first english lesson in 7th grade. (my first french lesson was in 5th grade)

Writing wise, I couldn't tell English was your second language (or third, rather!). You get good marks from me at least.

I admit, I still have to use an online dictionary sometimes, if I'm not sure which word I should use. (or to check that I'm not falling for a false friend  )

Writing wise, I couldn't tell English was your second language (or third, rather!). You get good marks from me at least.

I can't speak anything else. I'm half - Thai, but the only words I know are tatted on my arm.

That...is sadly true... sometimes I want to ask people to write proper, cause I don't understand what they write.   Mostly when they write in slang, or only use abbreviations.

Tho I also have problems in reading swiss dialects.

Once a friend wrote me a text in Aargauerisch (the dialect spoken in the Canton Aargau), I had no problems with understanding him when he talked to me, but I had to read the text out loud to understand it.

Ah yes! I remember all that now, very diverse yes you have different languages everywhere. I remember a cafe where we ended up talking to like a French person, Swiss person, and some German guy all in the same go, all friendly too =-)

 

And yeah I would of never guessed that English was a second language or anything Gilli-chan it all comes off really well. It's also extremely natural. I spend some time learning other languages from time to time like German/Japanese, even Greek at times, and it's always just a lot to keep track of in many ways.
