Can't envision which finger is hurt here?  Finger is the one between pinky and middle finger?  What do you mean by clicking?

Yeah, that finger. I suck at remember what the fingers are called.

And by clicking, I mean pulling the joints in the finger to produce a 'pop' sound.

I know...Ubisoft destroyed that franchise. The last one I played in earnest was 2, I played a bit of Black Flag, but only because...well...Pirates :)

jackgif-503_zpsa2174546.gif

Black Flag is when I got into it.

I then got all the previous (hey, discounts! yay!) and I never liked the combat in AC1. I mean, the ending is pretty hardcore, and I think you can't beat it unless you just go full-out turning blades, and even then it's psychotically hard. AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations, I did not find anything wrong about, but Revelations felt boring.

These new ones, though, I'M LAUGHING IN THEIR FACES. Especially since that Unity bit where you're scaling the Eiffel, as I said. They pull stuff from the genetic memory, meaning somewhere, they pulled a memory of 109s strafing the Eiffel! THAT IS SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE, PARIS FELL TWICE DURING THE WAR, AND BOTH TIMES WITHOUT A SINGLE SHOT.

Well 1st of all don't click it if you can help it.  Sounds like a strained ligament perhaps.  Did it swell up at all?  Probably rest and non use will help the most.  (No clicking!)

Just packed up my console last night, already getting a little bit of a gaming craving. Probably shouldn't of been starting up a new DAI run knowing I'd have to pack up soon.

It happened two weeks ago and it did swell a bit but it's gone down now. It bends fine. I can still make a fist and can carry heavy things with it. The only pain comes from trying to click it that one direction.

The French still had a resistance during WW2 which is why, the Germans still have a fighting force stationed there. As for the planes, they would have been used to get to anyone in the sky (such as to aid in potential bombings or deployments from allied forces) or, in this case, extreme height (the top of the Eiffel Tower would fit the bill). So it is indeed possible and it was not inaccurate to portray that in the game.

I forgot about Brotherhood   - I did finish that one, and played most of Revelations until, I too, became bored. Black Flag was a lot of fun, but I never finished it. I think I burned myself out blowing up ships, gathering materials, and finding hidden treasure. I can't remember the story - Edward...blah...blah...wife...left...blah...something. Pirating was/is fun. That is why I am hoping that DA4 has something to do with Pirates...or at least seafaring. Oh...the possibilities.

Poods, please... (Also, you took me off Ignore... The stuff I learn some days...)

The point is, the entire area, in addition to the live fire exercise of that one 109, looks like there's combat going on.

Also I remember a zeppelin of some sort, and I can't remember zeppelins being in use during the second war.

Hell, anything that isn't a barrage balloon shouldn't be around, and I'm having my reservations about barrage balloons being present in Paris.

They broke the lore with that scene, which is why I keep laughing at it.

Pirates... Used to be a pirate from Rivain around this tavern, you'd understand each other...

But yeah, Black Flag was fun. Almost a hundred hours clocked, and to this day it's one of the few (if not only) games I persevered until 100 completion.

I mean, not even DAI held me so long, I have yet to find all the bloody mosaics.

Actually, there might be a reason for it in game. I can't remember if Unity was part of Abstergo's attempt at turning memories into games but considering Black Flag came before, I want to assume it was. In Black Flag, I believe there is a conversation or a collectible that states that some memories are "exaggerated" in order to make the game sell (in universe world - and potentially real world as well).

Yes, that is an excuse they can use to make the games less and less historically accurate, but it a reason nonetheless.

I haven't played any of the games. Was a draw to any of them that they were historically accurate?

So, you think they began manufacturing "memories" to make more interesting games?

Hmm...

Well, other than throwing around historical names every other second? (Leonardo da Vinci makes several appearances throughout the story of AC2 and Brotherhood, ie the Reneissance Auditore saga, you see like most of the major signers of the Declaration of Independence in AC3...)

They attempt to portray real events as Templar plots, or similar.

(WWII was apparently a plot by a bunch of Templars, including Hitler, Roosevelt and Mussolini, fought againist by Churchill, or some other bullshit like that..)

I've only played AC1 and 2.. But I got 3 and 4 for cheap... they're just sitting around now.

I always liked the setting for 1. The game wasn't that fleshed out yet though.

It is not historically "accurate." I put that in quotations because in regards to the protagonist, the story, Abstergo, the Templar involvement, and the various conspiracies interconnected, it is not accurate. On the other hand, a lot of historical information can be gained by interacting with various groups like (AC1) Templars, Hospitalars, the Hassassin, and how those groups clashed during the 12 century. The environments are remarkable, as the team tried to replicate the cities of Demascus, Acre, Jerusalem, and even Masyaf. In AC2, you travel forward to the 15th century, and can enjoy the environments of Florence Italy, Venice, etc. These are close models - obvious not exact layouts, but some of the major landmarks have been well replicated. For the first few games in the series - I would say that a lot of exciting historical information can be gained.

The only reason I do not remark on the other ones (A3, Unity, Rogue, Syndicate), with exception of Black Flag (Havana was nice, but I cannot gauge its accuracy), I have not played them.

AC2 made me want a Casanova game...

And no, not because I'm not some Bioware fan obsessed with romance. AC2 just did Venice so well that something light would be cool there too.

I have to admit, I never played an AC game

Sometimes I see a bundle (I think 1-3?) in games stores, but I never know if I should buy it or not.
