My line of reasoning is:  I feel a sense of pride when I get a headshot in a game and I've been gathering up hammers in FO4.  Therefore, perfect sense.

Why is it that this year seems to be one for disappointments on the game front?

 

Overwatch?

Not enough game for the price. Also, good luck trying to play it alone and have fun.

 

Doom?

A game i would have enjoyed 20 years ago. Unfortunately i'm not 12 anymore and pointless gorefests (that are more comedic than anything) with a story that fits on a tissue paper doesn't do it for me. Also, gameplay 20 years ago was the way it was because we didn't know any better and didn't have the tech to do it better anyhow. It was NOT because it was great, just as good as they could make it at the time. Nostalgia is a cancer.

 

Mirror's Edge Catalyst?

Something is just...off with the gameplay i saw during the beta. Also, cookie cutter cyberpunk corporate dystopia with equally cookie cutter corporate villain. The original world setting was much more threatening because there was no overt villain in the story other than the soul-crushing machine of the squeaky clean surveillance society around you.

 

All in all....Meh.

Ha, I can't really comment on any of those games as none of them are of any interest to me to begin with. Last year was the disappointing year for me, I didn't buy a single game.

I like the look of all three of those games. I won't be getting Doom though, but the other two I can't wait to get my hands on.

This year, for me, is a good year for gaming.

I wanted Doom but I'm still not sure when I'm gonna get it. I'm juggling SWTOR and TW3. Blood and Wine soon

Besides, I fear it becoming another "Duke Nukem Forever".

If i'd have to describe Doom with a single word, that word would be 'dumb', And that's not a word i actually use to describe many games. 'Broken', 'Pathetic' and 'Terribad' sure. But Doom....just dumb.

Dark Souls 3 and UFC 2 have been keeping me busy on the rare occasions I get to play video games nowadays, PVP mostly.

Got to get back to Fallout 4 when Far Harbour drops though.
