We know that Father manipulated the Earth(?) to restrict Alchemy in Amestris.
Do you think it could've also affected the Humunculi? Like if they walked too far away from Amestris that they'd feel like something would be pulling them back?
Greed is leaving the country together with Ling, Lan Fan and May Chang to Xing. Inbetween those two countries lies the desert and there the Ruins of Xerxes (where Father is from), so I thought that Greed would maybe have no problems walking to the Ruins of Xerxes, but the closer they get to Xing, and by that getting farther away from Amestris and Xerxes, the harder it would be for him to walk through the desert.
I'm thinking of like walking through mud.

While lounging beachside with a mimosa, Dazzle receives a letter.

"Ugh, I told the office not to disturb me!" She mutters as she tears the envelope open, but then smiles as it turns out to be a question from Gi. Dazzle ponders as she reads over the letter, musing at the scenario.

Dazzle's return letter to Gi reads: Gi, how coule you miss the bus?! Stuck at the bar while we're all at the beach? It's simply tragic.

As for your query, I find your logic sound. I would say though you might be more successful it you make the struggle emotional, rather than physical. Make it a sense of yearning and longing, growing stronger the farther away from Emestris he gets.

I haven't gone shoe shopping in 4 years. That's how old my most recent shoe purchase is now anyway.

It's like a weird aversion to even going in.  I even went where I was going (Meadowhell) to specifically look for new work shoes (as mine let in water just walking across wet ground) and I just didn't want to go and look!  It's nothing serious just I don't really seem to want to do it very much.

I only have two sets of footwear I really use - black shoes (that look a bit like trainers) and black Dr Martens boots.

I haven't worn highheels since my highschool grad. Never. Again. I have 2 pairs of shoes. Sandals and sneakers.

 

My sneakers did cost about $150 and are designed running shoes, from back when I used to do a lot of cross country running.

OMG, do you mean meadowhall??  *South Yorkshire fist bump*   I order all my joddy boots from an equestrian site online - need to be waterproof.  I get delivery the next day and that's good in Ireland!  You can get very smart ones too.
