I just confused myself while writing on my fic.  (more I'm rereading and changing some stuff that bothers me)

Does anyone have a good mnemonic about how to distinguish big and large? (normally I have no problems, there are just some instances where I can't decide which word would be better)

Cause LEO is not being helpful....

In the original sentence there was no adjective in that place, it just felt, like it was missing one.

 Have fun!

*goes back to not writing*

Silverite balls ROFLMAO! And yes, it does. I feed off the despair of those around me.

..sounds suspicious :bandit:

I thought we established my very own balls are made of pure silverite, haven't we?

Well, in this case your balls is irrelevant.

And just to avoid any misunderstanding, I'm not trying to imply that you don't know it  :)

@Gilli: I wish I could help. I like second sentence better, but i'm not the best expert on the matter  :)

I would imagine my balls being irrelevant for the moment... You should finish whatever art you have in progress (that's what you were originally talking about ,right) - take a sip of Vodka for courage if your own Silverite stones aren't enough! ;)

And @Gi: I'd say larger, though my "feel" for the language leaves a lot to be desired, not being a native speaker.

Big and large are synonyms and can be interchangeable. Both sentences work. Flip a coin.

I think 'larger' carries more weight to it. Comparing the two, I would say that larger is heavier where as bigger just denotes size. (size does not necessarily mean that the larger it is, the heavier it is) If you are seeking to to draw attention to that one, I would go with 'larger' over bigger. If not, if it is a throw away line, go with 'bigger'.

In the context of the sentence it's just about the size of the piece of graphite.

Like.... the piece of graphite that broke of by itself had this size and the one that Ling removed had this size.

So, bigger it is....JFBQ00134070103A.gif

I would probably opt for 'larger' out of the two options.

Out of curiosity.... are you going to stop not being a poodle again at some point?  I only ask because my mind is wondering wandering and it's easier than thinking sensible things.

I'm so glad I decided to be off from work tomorrow to recover from the Expo.  It turns out I REALLY need it.
