Just to add, I think the best application for all of this arcades... and big screened, motion rooms. Like a freaking Disneyland experience in every city. In the home, not so much...unless you're a millionaire.
And it'd be nice to see arcades have a resurgence. That was my first gaming love.
I'm with straykat about the whole vr thing. Though I think the next thing of gaming is already those curved monitors. You know, the ultra-HD, join a couple together if you want curved ultra screens. This is the current next-step craze going on at the moment
(I am still quite happy playing on my ol' cheapo monitor atm. but I have tested these in stores and they are amazing to play games with, in my opinion)
Mainly because they are widely available, accessible, generally affordable and appeal to a larger range of computer (and console! curved screen ultra-hd / +3d tv's is a thing too!) users. where-as vr seems like it appeals to a smaller number, for now. the youngster gaming experience still hs some growing to do, but has come far over the years. Maybe the next generation of 20-somethings will be rolling all over that stuff xD
And the big thing.. they're not so different to what we have other then a slightly more immersive experience, humans aren't always kind about change xD baby steps!

My friend in high school did a comic spoof of the A-Team and inserted himself and my groups of friends into the cast. I was the Almostfaceman. Not quite Faceman... but almost.
