Nostalgia kicks in. Buys Oblivion and Morrowind. Tries to play them. They both crash. A lot. Oblivion won't even boot up at first... finds out it's because Windows 10 automatically set the .exe file to "Compatibility Mode" for Windows XP Service Pack 3. Remembers why I stopped playing them.

Oh well, at least I'll own the copies for when Skywind and Skyblivion come out. Right?

Right?
Is this the game where you built stuff that's too much for the engine to handle?
Yeah, but this isn't because of the same issue.

Oh, cool. Are you modding the game?

The PS4 has two cords. One to plug into the mains. The other into a TV. That's all. I turned the power off at the mains, and somehow, after at least an hour of it being completely turned off, it's lights came on and it starts making those beeping noises it makes.
Oh, cool. Are you modding the game?
Yeah, that's probably why it's crashing.
NUMBER FIVE LIVES.
Or something.
Johnny number five?
Johnny number five?
probably?

only know him from TV trailers ![]()
Yeah, Johnny five. Grew up on those ridiculous movies.
Me too.

Yeah, Johnny five. Grew up on those ridiculous movies. "Johnny five is alive!"
yes he is, oh yes he is alive

how did you turn it off? with the button on the main console? PS4 defaults to shutting down in a 'sleep' mode that it can still do updates and such while in a lower power mode, but its not actually all the way off. So its possible it was in sleep mode, did an update and then turned in to install it for some strange reason.
If you use the controller, hold the PS button down and then select shut down instead of sleep/rest mode, it shouldn't come back on.
If that is what you did, well then...I will have to go to my fall back explanation which I will post shortly

Power off. At. The. Main.
*throws a dead Ben-Hassrath agent at Lyn*
I hope Scrubaldo is going to cry again. ![]()

by Main you mean the console right? yeah that button defaults to the sleep mode, not actually shutting it off. I've done that too, then I accidentally lean or something and hit the ps button on the dvd remote and it turns on
Oi, those things kill! If you really couldn't handle them you should have had me in your party.*throws a dead Ben-Hassrath agent at Lyn*

The other explanation is that your ps4 is inhabited by the infant offspring of a dead people from a world far away in a time long ago who performed a forbidden rite as a last ditch effort to give their child a chance to live, two electronic living beings, filled with sadness an despair as their world decayed into oblivion, forgotten and lost for all time...broke the rules of time and space to save their unborn child...and send it far into the future, to you..
and now..exposed to Earth's power grid, he will grow up stronger and more powerful, able to compute large data streams in a single cycle, burn blue ray's with lasers from his optic ports, process faster than a high velocity kinetic projectile, more powerful than a nasa super computer... he will be the guardian of all Sony Products on the planet form the evil plans of the evil leXBox lucroSoft....
it will be a long and strange road for you as his caretaker, and I do not envy you the trials you face ahead..

No, the wall. The plug socket. Where every electrical appliance, if it's not battery powered, needs to get it's juice from.

how do you turn 'off' a wall socket?

I feel like I've neglected it now...
how do you turn 'off' a wall socket?
There is a switch that stops electricity from going through to whatever you've plugged into it.
There is a switch that stops electricity from going through to whatever you've plugged into it.
really? never seen that before.
in that case, my guess is that something in that switch or the wiring actually isn't fully shutting off, that power is still some how getting through, maybe not consistently, but thats the only way I can imagine the light would be coming on if the wall socket is off, power has to be getting through some how.
