Well climate change can actually cause snowfall, tornadoes and animal death. So I feel like her time-travel was the catalyst for increased global warming in this reality.

As for the eclipse and double-moon, that feels more sci-fi to me. But it could possibly be...maybe explained by wormhole or blackhole theories?

Or an intersection of parallel realities caused by jumping timelines.

*sigh* 57% increase in hate crime...

If it wasn't for my white skin (which I have never been as grateful for than I am right now), I could very well be one of those people it's happening to.

I fear for my brothers.

Not here, please. Sorry, I know it sucks.

HAIL, NINJA CAT! Independence Day weekend is coming up so I'll be on the prowl for tea to dump in the harbor. Fair warning.

As the state of the Commonwealth is such that it is a good point to jump to the dlc content, i'm letting Eliza rest for a bit and need to find another game to fill the RPG slot. Any ideas? What i'm looking for is a fantasy rpg with full character creation (but only on ONE character, i loathe creating the entire party), relatively open world and bonus points for voiced player character. Elder scrolls games are disqualified as they are more amusement parks than rpgs and Neverwinter Nights games are also off the list because they are way too hard for me to just enjoy the game.

Edit: And i've played the Dragon Age games to death :P

Divinity Original Sin? Only thing is, if you're playing solo you have to create one other character. There is voice acting if you play the extended cut.

The only other one I can think of is Kingdoms of Amalur.. Silent protagonist like Dragon Age origins. People say it's a mix between that and Elder Scrolls. I thought it was a piece of crap personally.

And of course Dragon's Dogma if you haven't played it already. It's now available on PC.

Edit. Or just screw voice acting and fantasy altogether. Shadowrun was one of the best rpgs I played last year.

While not going to go for Original Sin for the above mentioned two-character system, the other Divinity games are a possibility and i actually own one. Oddball world setting, but still a possibility. Hmm....

Kindoms of Amalur is....yeah, no.

I'll have to look in to DD, but it does start with -10 CoolCat points for being a japanese Capcom production. Thank the gods for youtube for checking what a game is actually like :P

Shadowrun games i own, but.....ehh... Something about them rubs me the wrong way :/

Edit: Drink up!

Dragon's Dogma combat is pretty awesome, you get little pawns following you around to help with combat because, well.. I need them or i'd get my backside kicked to the moon and back. Love the game though, and amazing character creation system as well as combat.

eta: also it got re-released, not due to bugs or other issues but to make it better and to include the dlc expansion island with the main game. don't take points away for that, add points to it instead. it's awesome imo.

I'm vary of ALL japanese games because while they might have good, or even great, game mechanics the writing and voiceacting usually make me want to drink bleach. Case in point, the Metal Gear games....

But like i said, i'll take a look :P

For the "BioWare" effect there really aren't that many options..

The only other one I can think of is Pillars of Eternity for good narration and role playing options. It's in a crpg style and isometric so.. No voice acting for that.

Too bad about Shadowrun  I thought it was brilliant. Which one did you play? Because Returns pales in comparison to Dragonfall. Hong Kong is supposed to be better than both of them but I didn't get very far into it.

Now that I think about it I'm tempted to pick it up again. :bandit: *guiltily side eyes all the unplayed games, including the ones she recently bought off Steam* for **** sake.

I played the first SR. I'll eventually give the others a look but the first played like an on-rails rpg    Me no likey.

I'll look in to Pillars of Eternity, though a quick look at screenshots seems to indicate that its a party-heavy game.

Now the reason i dislike having to manage the entire party is that when i play a good rpg, i get invested in my character and create all sorts of backstory stuff for them. Party-heavy games make me feel that i'm playing a strategy game (or a baby sitting simulator).

There shall be the player character and a maximum of two companions at a time (that i can set to autolevel and fight). No more, no less :P

Yeah, for bioware type games.. you're kinda stuck with bioware's ones. Not many other games have brilliant voice acting and rpg in them. most are rpg with silent characters, and not many have in-depth story and lore throughout the game either. I reckon you could count the good ones on your fingers, and you've likely played the heck out of them already.

That last sentence is how I play dragon's dogma. 2 'pawns' folloowing me around set on auto-just there for fights, I do not micro manage them except to say "prioritise that spell okay" and "fight that thing" otherwise they're just other things there poking stuff i'm attacking. and it's literally stated they're kinda emotionless, creativity-less etc etc.. aka not human, they're just there to help you fight. my Dogma character has a great little headcanon backstory of how a person with pointed elfy ears ends up in a fishing village to start with xD

On a character story/rpg point of view though it's a vague character except for the story plot of fighting a dragon. One npc will fall for you apparently, I haven't gotten that far just yet. I'm not a fan of the developer, but I am a fan of the game. I definitely know how hard it is to seperate your view of the makers, away from your view of the game until you've played it properly or watched vids. (steam sale , 20 bucks for me, not bad really)

Actually, only other game I can think of is Divinity II Ego Draconis.

Divinity II i actually have played and kinda liked. Cooky world but not too bad :P  Just that i lost my save with the windows 10 debacle and now i would have to redo the entire painfully long pre turn-in-to-a-dragon intro >.<

...Might end up playing that, though,   Or continue my Neverwinter Nights 2 playthrough. Gods dammit why does NWN2 have to lock  away all the rpg goodness behind a turd of a combat system? >.<  It still one of the best games in how it actually lets your character be YOUR character. You know, role play :P

Yeah having party members in PoE helps a hell of a lot.. But I also despise having to manage what every other **** is doing. There is a setting where you can set them to auto attack so they do their own thing, much like Origins.

What do you mean by "on rails"? Too linear?

The role playing aspect of Shadowrun is within your combat class and some choices. Though for the RP side of things Dragonfall is way better.

I'd play that again just so I can die on purpose and listen to Lara Croft making orgasm noises while getting impaled on a stick or something.

Puhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu!

Some people theorise that (Potential Andromaderp spoiler incoming)

Too linear, yeah. Felt like was stuck in a straight corridor the whole time and none of what i did or said had any impact on anything    If they've got better writing and design in the other parts, good. I'll eventually get around to try them :P
