I've made it into the top 15% of players (according to Master Overwatch), but because of bad players, I've dropped down to the top 25%.
That is unacceptable!

Speaking of, I'm watching a documentary on the Red Baron. One of his quotes was kind of cool... how he compared himself to medieval jousting knights, and how free it was, how he didn't have to depend on anyone in the air.. pilots were judged on their individual skills.

That is how ranked should be! Judged on individual skill. Not how well that team performs (unless it's two six man groups going up against each other). People that I don't know and won't play with again shouldn't affect my rank in any way, shape or form.
I have to say none of this is convincing me to play Overwatch. Mainly because I'd be one of the rubbish people.
It's not a case of players being rubbish. Many of them play fine. My problem is being placed with them, which is at the end of the day, a fault with the ranked system. I get put with them, I don't win. My problem is being put with them in the first place.

This reminds me of a Turf War match in Splatoon from yesterday.
I'm level 6 and one of the 8 other players (it's 4 vs 4 in random teams) was Lvl 44. I just sat there 
Tho note: This was "just" the "Turf War" which is basically only a "Paint more than the other team" game. I don't have access to the Ranked Battles yet, I'll unlock them when I reach Lvl 10.

How is the rank determined, exactly? Wins and kills, and such?
You only rank up by winning games. What determines your initial rank though are the ten placement matches you must do. These are, again, win to get a higher rank. Win all ten and you'll be put close to 100. Lose all ten and you'll be put close to 0. Supposedly, they take into account how well you perform as well. There is evidence that players that only play support get put in a lower rank than players who play offensive or are tanks, despite them winning the same amount of games.

And life is better for it, I kid you not.
In multiplayer games, there will always be teams that just make you facepalm. But at the end of the day - it's their fight.
You should play to enjoy. Then maybe I can stop clicking every tenth or so post of yours, because you're currently on my ignore list.
When you lose - well, you obviously survive. Adapt, and win. If winning is not possible - just do your best.
Now, if it wasn't Uplay, I'd jump all over it. But since it's Uplay, I'll just sit here and think about it a little bit. Thanks for the heads up!

Edit: Okay Pokémon Go is finally available in Europe, but I can’t download it, because apparently my phone is not compatible.
there was a post that said it wouldn't work on phones with Andriod versions 'older' than Lollipop, but my phone HAS Lollipop. WHY IS IT NOT COMPATIBLE? 
Edit 2: Seriously, the game needs version 4.4 (KitKat) or higher to run, I have 5.0.1 (Lollipop) installed on my phone, but I can't download it.

The final climatic ending chapter for the episodic expansion in swtor right now was originally going to be released just before my Thailand visit, so I would have been able play before going on the torturous (due to people) trip. But found out this morning it has now been delayed until after I get back from my trip. I was looking forward to enjoying playing before going so I could start the trip in a good mood and not play it after enduring people for a whole week in a different country (always sets me in a bad mood for ages), but no such luck. 
Oh well, not like I can do anything about that, just disappointed now more then anything else. lol
