Just completed Assassin's Creed: Syndicate.

 

I like these games but how the stories are thread together are getting more and more frayed with each installment.

 

In this game, Jacob goes after the Templars, seeing that as the Assassin's job, whereas Evie goes in search of the Piece of Eden, seeing that as the Assassin's job. That is fine. I like that.

 

Evie's part of the game is fine. Cleaning up Jacob's mess and following her own trail that she is finding out for herself.

 

Jacob's on the other hand, I have problems with. He somehow finds a target with no intel, takes out that target and then finds a new target with no intel. He's picking names out of his hat and hoping they are Templars, is what it feels like.

 

It doesn't feel like Jacob is a part of the Creed, and I'm finding this to be the case with most of the Assassin's Creed protagonists. It's terribly disappointing. That's what I loved about the first game. You are part of a much grander thing. It just doesn't feel like that as the games go through the different times in history.

 

I've only played the first two, but even the second one, despite being a better game, never grabbed me like the original setting. That's all I really care about.. the Palestinian/Crusade setting. And Altair is a cool name... and the middle eastern thing kind of gave it a "edgier" Prince of Persia feel. They should just make it again, with all of their new expertise behind it.

Details for people who might like to hear about her. (This is all paraphrased from the traits/ideals/flaws section to make a sort story for you to read, so apologies if the phrasing is strange)


She has long cascading teal blue hair that she likes to pin up in elaborate braided styles, silver skin, and spring green eyes. She's lithe and on the shorter side of 5'3". She would look to be about mid-thirties in human years, though she is 275 years old.

She favours simple, empire waist gowns that have off-the-shoulder sleeves, in cool colours that compliment her colouring. She enjoys trinkets and baubles, often wearing expensive gems set in silver.

She's a governess figure, teaching young sorcerers and sorceresses to control their magic. She's gentle and smiles often. She believes patience and kindness are quintessential virtues if others are expected to learn from you.

Her highest quest is the pursuit of knowledge, however she was raised a lady and thusly believes that one must always remain graceful and composed if one is to pursue knowledge without appearing a buffoon.

She is accustomed to the finer things in life, and the various homes she has lived in have all been rather luxurious - commoners don't often acquire high elves to tutor their children, you see.

I do however want to get back into Warhammer table top games. It just costs so damn much, and there isn't a place in my town that allows for games to be played.

Warhammer RPG is mostly what I played actually... years ago. You'd probably be at home with it, but you don't need to buy anything. It's just like DnD.

 

Looks like they destroyed the setting though.

Pen and Paper is a lot of fun. I really like hopping into the mind of a whole new person and experiencing the world as them.

Plus, you know, cool loot and stuff.

I went to GameStop and bought a Nintendo eshop card for 20.- CHF. Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow are on sale (30% less), tho idk which one I want to get. (I already have all three, but they're supposed to be compatible wth Sun & Moon)
