No, I mean can you access the internet when you're not near wifi? If not then you need to talk to your cellphone provider to get a data plan.

 

No, no WiFi = no internet. Also I use prepaid, not a contract.

BUT I got misinformed by my mom. She told me it'd be 1km to the grocery store, when it's actually only around 500 meters.  So it didn't count only half my steps, the distance is only half as long as I thought.   Took a walk through the village this evening and got to around 1,5km more or less.

My iphone has zero internet access, and I get by fine. Probably helps that the only thing it gets used for is as an ipod because it's prepaid since I cant afford a plan and it never has credit anyway because I can't afford to waste 30 bucks when barely half of it will get used in a couple of months before it expires since I don't even text or call anyone, only numbers in my phone is parents :/ (and allowing the wifi on it with 30 bucks prepaid credit chews it up in under 2 hrs so not an option either)

Yeah, sadly that's one reason why I can only access one of the tons of PokeStops around here.  (the grocery store has free wifi access)

Same mostly, I have many numbers on my phone (my mom alone has like 3 numbers  ) but I rarely call anyone.

My wifi access doesn't cost me anything............I think.

So at final count tonight I visited 10 different pokestops tonight in 7 different neighbourhoods and now have 43 pokeballs, 2 hatched eggs, 6 unhatched eggs, 24 potions, 21 revives, 1 incense aaaand 10k steps!!

Also, slightly sore feet and about a quarter million mosquito bites

edit: *disclaimer, I have nothing against people enjoying playing it, or that it exists etc.. only an issue with a couple of the places it's placed as gyms in it's servers (namely just cemeteries and memorials for people who have died).

Good thing is, the one memorial in the city I can clearly remember (the event is rather important to me, despite being over seventy years old) has no wifi. A memorial stone, some flowers, and a few benches that rarely get used. Used to be an information board, too, but it broke and has yet to be replaced. All that in the middle of a lot of trees and bushes, so you can barely see the buildings behind it.

 

Come to think of it, should my actions warrant a memorial, that's exactly the kind I'd like.

The game is actually pretty bad at tracking the correct distance. And I also hatched 2 2km eggs while sitting at home and only having the app open, lol. I wonder if they fix some things anytime soon.
