The best thing IMO, is just being able to literally meet someone in person for the first time, you know everything about them, they know everything about you.
I agree phones are kind of cagey, because with social media you can maybe see a picture of the person or more info, so it isn't this huge black box.

Interaction kind of makes me nervous in general, that's how it should be.
I think we've become so disconnected from day to day interactions and stuff, that we've come to treat a simple human interaction person meeting another as a grand event, and disabled in terms of the ability to have it.
This is kind of random but I thought it explained it all super well.
Basically, the absence of reciprocity, the more isolated and prone to miscommunication we have become.
I think getting on the phone, or talking to someone in person, is a powerful experience, emotionally, etc, but it also reduces miscommunication. It might not be like "the answer you want" but it's more efficient answer.

Yeah I visited there once upon a time. 
Anyway, like if you think about it a lot of people who use phones are jerks so you kind of avoid it because you don't want to hear it, but if the people who generally used phones (i.e. not the typical business culture) were going to pick up, I think more people would use phones.
Like using a phone when you have no idea who the person is, it's a very weird experience.
Now I am well known for my lack of proper writing and grammar skills. But I find it just plain funny that I have trouble spelling the word Grammar...often it comes out grammer .
On the phones subject, I actually have a fear of talking to someone, anyone, on the phone. I can barely even talk to my own parents over the phone. Just knowing I have to call someone sends me into minor panic attacks. When I need to call a business, I have to get my boyfriend to do it and keep calm enough to tell them he has permission to handle whatever needs handling.
Is calling DA I a casual game on the list of drinkable offenses? If not I nominate it should be.

I love talking to my friends on the phone, but I dread having to call ANYONE I don't know on the phone because of my social anxiety.

Yeah there it is, who are you calling is a big deal.
Like I just don't want to talk to a lot of people, phone or otherwise.
What's even more weird is this conversation I've been asking myself if I want to get food from a place that doesn't take online orders, i.e. only way is phone.
I've settled on the fact that it's 2 actions "ordering" and then "paying and collection," so it's inefficient.
On the other hand, I don't mind just going in and placing the order like physically in person and then waiting.
Even though I'm waiting, it's less annoying than the phone thing which feels sort of like a redundant process.

Actually the most fun thing I think I ever used was this thing (and it was quite reliable too)
You literally just press a button and link it to people, bam, voice conference.

But still, you won't believe how many asks I never sent on tumblr, because I fear I might annoy the other person.

Same. Depends on who I'm talking to, but I get louder the more comfortable I'm around people too.
