*Roly raises up from his little corner of the bar* *hic*  Did someone call for a Biotic God?

Ah, Samson.   Actually a very interesting and rather tragic figure, truth be told.  Tries to be a good Templar, has problem with lyrium, so Templars abandon him instead of helping.  Actually thinks he's trying to do good by his people under him.  He's a "bad guy" by virtue of the role imposed upon him and his actions in service of Corybooty, but he could have easily gone a different path in life had the Templars not treated him like crap to begin with.    Just my two cents.

*Somberly drinks a broody beard after his little speech then passes back out*

Exactly how we, the fans in the Samson thread, see him.

Thank you, Roly.

Samson. I don't like him and it's only for superficial reasons. My first thoughts on seeing Samson in game: Samson is a grease ball. Seriously looks like he's not had a shower or any sunlight in a few years. Dead greasy fish face. The Gideon Emery voice does not help. I don't know why, but I have this thing against his voice. I'll blame Fenris for that one. *drink*thinks back* yup, Fenris.

Fan fics....people are crazy. Perhaps they haven't played DA2 or bothered to pay any attention to Samson's quest line and why he was kicked out of the Order. The game doesn't do a very good job cueing the player in on his motives, which is a shame because it helps us understand his character. It's all notes and codices that most people skip, too bored to read. Shame to because that whole helping Maddox pass love letters was unexpected and a nice touch.

Cullen/Samson smut though? No. Just no. Burn it all.

Sounds like you know what you are doing.  ^_^ Do you do a lot of writing then?

Tbh, not much. Usually 3 days a week, from Friday to Sunday. Basically the days when I have more free time.  ^_^

The thing is, when you start writing, you feel insecure about everything. Only after a while - and it took me 5 years to feel I could really write something decent - do you acquire some level of self-assurance. But that's because you've trained for so long you've developed some measure of skill.

Or at least I think so. Other writers may have a different perspective on the process.

Of course! It's so simple. Why didn't I think of that!?   :P

Did I offend you? Sorry. I was just quoting that whole science experiment thing where they think the answers lies in lots of numbers when it's just... yeah, you get it.

You didn't think of it because it's the simplest solution.

No worries, I wasn't offended. :D

Sh*t, you made me laugh. For as much as I love the character, this is an accurate description of him. Can't even deny it.

I'm sure whatever you write, it will be very good.  ^_^

Haha Showing my shallow side there for sure. Calpernia seems to get more love than Samson, but I find Samson to be more tragic. *drink* I always side with the Mages.

They're both great characters. It's a pity the fanbase can be stupid and worship Calpernia while finding Samson "boring". Seems some people only have binary logic.

I guess a lot of people only came to know the DA universe through Inquisition. Not many people know -or care to know- the background of most of the characters who were on previous installments of the franchise.

Maybe Bioware could've endeavoured a bit more to tell Samson's backstory in DA:I, so that new players would understand him better. But anyway, let's drink before the tavern closes.

If it closes, that is.  :P

I think that has a lot to do with how his backstory is handled: notes and codices that most players ignore, little cut scenes that have no information, and little dialogue. *drink*

Speaking of Samson, I'm about to finish the Temple of Mythal again. Poor guy. *drink*

Hello, Drinkquisition thread.

You guys really are the first on the scene when the most ludicrous troll threads spring up, like a super-hero team. Lol.

I thought I might contribute this,

“After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world.”
― Oscar Wilde

I'm sure if I weren't a little tipsy, I could try to play with that quote and turn it into a pensive contemplation of the nature of the Forum, but I am a little tipsy (cherry brandy, tonight), so I won't embarrass myself.

:P I won't let you trick me into playing my hand too early. At least not until I've had more than one glass.

When I'm under the influence, I much prefer to let others do the talking for me, cowardly though it may be.

I wonder what Dwarven ale really tastes like...

You know those Bertie Botts every flavor beans they made to capitalize on Harry Potter? I was once tricked into eating a vomit flavored one. Well, there was also a dirt one. I bet Dwarven ale tastes like a liquified version of a bucket of dirt flavored Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean.

...Which I suppose, is just a roundabout way of saying it probably tastes like mud with a vegetal infusion. Because of the lichen.

I may be getting more drunk now.

I like this trail of thought.  I think I'd have to agree with that. It probably does taste like dirt. That or stone. Stone tastes... kind of odd.  :P

If I had to devise a rating system for how sexy, I'd say above a milk chocolate passionfruit ganache but below rolling around in red satin sheets.

I'll go with glass of grand cru champagne, and plan to linger there.

I haven't a clue what that means but I'm going to go ahead and think hourglass figure with the face of an angel.  ^_^
