The point is that a Desire Demon would call themselves a Choice. Spirit because such a demon manipulates people and forces them to make choices.  And since there is no such thing as a 'choice spirit' (Choice is not an emotion) then that makes him a Desire Demon.  Yes a very advanced hyper old super bad ass one, but still, a Desire Demon. 

Imshael didn't manipulate or force Mhiris to want revenge against Michel...Then she made the choice to not do so when she had the chance even after Felassan tried to egg her on. But then Celene and Gaspard kept getting in the way... Not saying he's not a Desire Demon, but that he's focused on something more complex than just desires, which is why I see him as being more than. Would have enjoyed talking to Solas about him. Missed opportunity.
