Just adding my two cents. The Last Archivist on Earth sounds a little long if you ask me. The Archivist is both short, which is good, and also allows for a little mystery. "What makes this archivist so special?" is one possible question someone who picks up the book might think.

That's my dilemma: the size of the title. Maybe I'll go for The Last Archivist. Not too long, not too short.

I like The Last Archivist. Gives it a bit of weight, and it's not going to get confused with The Alchemist series (of which there are multiple).

Even though many bestsellers have short titles, allow me to offer some worthy wordy counterpoints:

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

I like it as well. Having the "on Earth" at the end makes it look like other planets are involved. Maybe there are space stations with the last of humanity on them etcetera, which from what you've said of it, doesn't appear so.

The Last Archivist... Yeah. "Why is he the last? What is an Archivist?" I think it still leaves room to guess, but doesn't give to much away.

Hehe, didn't think you were crazy! No, I knew you were doing a youth voting thing, I was just trying to figure out the tie-in based on your drawings. Figured something like, "Vote, or the next time you shove a nail through your eye, the NHS may not be around to patch you up!"

Also, though, what Dazzle said :)

I thought it was a genius tactic to make them think voting was cool or something.. Shows how fucked up I am.

Hump day!!!!

*Roly holds his tummy and groans*  Ugh, I think I need to lay down.  Ate some bad Chinese or something, apparently :(  On a positive note, I just took Dis out into the hinterlands.  Managing to survive every encounter so far and head back to a camp for resupply afterwards.  It's slooooooooow going, but I've not died since the pride demon.  Oh... and that hook and tackle?! Oh.My.God.  I LOVE IT!   It's like a better version of a warrior's grappling hook.

The greatest thing for DW Rogue, imo. Chain gang from enemy to enemy. It also makes killing the local wildlife a whole lot easier.

You know this may sound obvious but it is so very different writing a fic, piece of fiction, that is...well trying to be character driven of 15 chapters and 54...*drinks*

  That's a beautiful name!

Also... uh oh, I made a big, BIG mistake.  You saying you didn't remember got me thinking and trying to remember just where I had read about her.  Hobbit, LoTR, Unfinished Tales, I couldn't remember.  For some reason, I was thinking she was Thorin's grandma, the wife of the old king under the mountain.   Checked Tolkien Gateway... she was mentioned in the LoTR appendicies and she was... KILI'S MOM!

I so owe Bunny a big apology for my response to her posting Kili after I mentioned her name.  So inappropriate.  Much Oedipus.  Wow. :(

Bunny, I'm sorry!!
