*tugs ineffectually at  the arrows*  You know, this could work.  Pincushion me good, Roy!  I'll try it out as an extra layer of deflection against melee attacks next time I roll out.

Btw, just out of curiosity, how do you wear your quiver?  Vertically (well slight diagonal) across the back?  Horizontally across the small of your back?  Strapped to your belt like a holster?  Strapped to your thigh?  Small of the back seems like the best except for them falling out.

*Drinks to Roy helping him survive in battle by... shooting him?*

Well, Volus, if you insist I shall oblige. Good thing this quiver never depletes.

I prefer my quiver diagonally across the back.

He wasn't who I woke up next to. (For the record I was alone).

I was hyped up on sugar and caffeine and challenged him to a race around the ramparts. A few of the others joined, bets were made, Sera set traps along the race route.

...a wasted opportunity I would call it...

Anytime, Poodle. I'm having one myself. It's delicious.

*peers out at the mess*

Better clean that up while the caffeine is still working its magic.

Some of you might have seen this already.

If you like archery or displays of badassery and awesome things, this is mandatory.

What a sexy discussion to feel left out from!

This guy prefers quivers fastened to the belt, yet in a somewhat 45° angle just over the right buttock, rather than flat or straightup holster-like.

BTW after recent speedarchery awesomness video crazes, just to kill this rumor wherever it comes up: Having quivers diagonally over your back is not wrong or even unpopular, historically. They simply used different quivers than we do nowadays. That means speed archery enthusiasts dismissing them, are just as misguided as people who actually use large hardened leather container-like quivers over their backs.

Historical hunters stuck them into foam like material at the bottom of the quiver, so they wouldn't move around even when sprinting through the underwood. Also, comparing war archers to hunters is like comparing Navy Seals to, well, present day hunters.

Exactly!  Like when my sister comes over and starts cleaning the kitchen and I have to get on her ass about it.  It's FINE!  A little grease splatter on the oven control knobs just keeps them lubricated, dammit!

And that is just common sense to me.

Oh man, this reminds me of the first time I used a bow. Had my left arm at not so good an angle so that when I released the string, it scraped all the way down my forearm. Ouch.

As an archer who uses a traditional English longbow and a quiver on his back I can tell you that while Andersen might have serious talent, he's so far off the mark with back quivers (and so, so many other things about archery) it ain't even funny. I have no problem with trickshooters, but this Andersen I seriously dislike for his nonsense.

Yeah mate, thanks for the input.

Like I wrote, I prefer a belt-fastened quiver, and I'm really not that much of a traditionalist either. I admit my fascination is 100% geek-related. Been a Robin Hood fan ever since I was a wee lad, and that's the whole reason I still just like to casually go into the woods and shot some targets (we have a range that is somewhat in between all-tournament-y and 3D targets) so I prefer traditional bows over fancy compound tech motherfunkers. My technique is 90% self-taught and probably horrible, but sheer experience & stubbornness over the years made me somewhat a good enough marksman by now.

P.S.: Why is there no good Robin Hood games except that fairly decent Commandos-knockoff ten years ago?
