If Bioware releases a DLC that adds a beautiful, feminine looking female companion for straight male gamers, then I'll change my stance on gay content in games.  Until then, I'm in "anti-gay content in games" mode.  I don't want gay content in games anymore if it means that women are going to start looking like men.

I don't know. I just know that I prefer my fantasy games as realistic as possible. Immerse me in that world. If actual reasons for having curves in the armour are explained in game (say it's part of this group of warriors fighting style or something) then sure, go for it. If not, then it's just going to be a pointless inclusion in the game. I don't like it. Armour is not gender specific. It's designed for practicality, not fashion.

 

I disagree with the idea that having breasts on armour must be fashionable. I mean, if the armour is going to have big breasts on it, it's clearly either there for fanservice, or (less likely) to fit a female who is already known for a large bust, but armour with a breast shape on it doesn't have to be big (and feminine/sexy). Comfort is a part of practicality and women with large breasts shouldn't have to wear armour fitted for men, because it would impair their combat ability.

 

Obviously, the women of Thedas aren't likely to have breasts all that big, so if there were armour with breasts on them, the breast shape would be fairly small, and not overt. You wouldn't want it to be big anyway, because the armour would just look too heavy.

 

It would be stupid for armoured items to have gender restrictions on them, so the armour would/should appear differently depending on who's wearing it.

Would gay men rather have more gay content in their favorite RPG's with a simple toggle "gay content on/off" option (for straight guys) OR would you rather have less gay content since the gay writers have to worry about not offending straight guys?

 

A sexuality sub-menu option would allow:

 

- Straight people to get more straight content.

- Gay people to get more gay content.

- Women to get more gay and straight content since all women are naturally bi-sexual.

 

Everyone wins.

 

Now if you're a politician with some kind of agenda, you're going to find a way to remove the logic and elegant simplicity my solution provides.

 

HUMOR ME and read this:

 

Imagine Dragon Age Inquisition with a toggle gay content off option. You decide to turn off the gay content with a simple click.  All of a sudden the game changes:

 

* Gay looking Varric is removed from the game and replaced by Oghren.

* Dorian gets replaced by Sebastian Vael.

* Cassandra Pentaghast no longer looks like a shemale.

* Josephine changes to look like an actual woman.

* Vivienne is no longer bald and instead has long beautiful black hair.

* None of the women in the game have bizarre shaved heads.

* Krem gets replaced by a hot blonde who complains she got bitten by a bee and it has caused her breasts to grow larger.

* All females wear breast plate armor with actual breast pockets aka "boob plate armor".

* All females look like supermodels.

* All females have beautiful physics based hair.

* Females get their own 3D model instead of recycling the male and changing it up a bit.

* All females have large breasts.

 

How awesome would that be? I'm serious by the way. Use your imagination while reading my suggestions.

This and Waterworld prove that Kevin Costner is not exclusively in crappy movies.

 

(The Postman by David Brin is one of my favourite novels, and I don't think the movie was too bad. The original novel actually gets comparatively bad on it's own right near the ending. Not BioWare ending subjective bad, it just gets really rushed and weirdly unspectacularly written compared to the rest of it)

Side note: That's my favourite version of Robin Hood. Kevin Costner actually looks a lot like my dad and they even have a lot of the same mannerisms, so when I'm watching a Costner movie it's almost like watching my dad.
