I hear ya. o/

When it's midnight in my country, it's already like 3 am in the Forum.

Many times I come here and the posts are all at around 5 am. I's so strange; I feel like I've entered the Twilight Zone.

Well, I always miss all the fun 'cause I can't check the thread as often as I would like.

Plus here time difference and I'm starting to feel left out.

T0hbx6t.gif

Since the day my friend, well, actually a friend of my brother, came up to me in school and said "Are you Russian? You look Russian." and then I feigned a Russian accent (terribly) and from that day on, he believed I was Russian. Still does. ...It's been 5 years...

 Hope you lived up to his expectation.

As regards languages, I'm gonna quote posts I made in 2006 and 2007 respectively in another forum...

snip.. hope he won't mind.. :P

Thing is, I am glad I don't speak/understand them because then I don't think I would be able to judge them as beautiful or not.  I have no idea how to judge English, for example.  It's simply "language" to me and processed as information, not art, by my brain.  Now, some accents are more lovely than others, but the language itself?  Not a clue how it "sounds" as a language.  Hope that makes sense.

I think I understand. One linguist (don't remember a name) said that Russian has special "melodica" (don't know how to translate it to English), but I don't hear it.

I hear words and focused on context.

All I know that our accent is funny  :D

Old Russian romance. Slow and gloomy, just as we like.  ;)

OK, I'm barely keeping my eyes open.

Good night, BG, Poodle, DQers.  :kissing:

What determines the X?

Oh.  I just meant whatever your preferred measure is based on the 'severity' of the penalty.  Dunno if that system's being used here or not?  IIRC (couldn't find the orig thread, unfortunately) different events/topics had different penalties for the number of shots/sips.

Edit: oh how the memories come flooding back... I believe any mention of 'Indoctrination Theory' was a harsh penalty, like finish the drink in your hand in one.  Something like that anyway.   :D

**We interrupt this Drinquisition for an unimportant emotional rambling**

Okay, so I've been home for the weekend just playing the goddamn game for a change (with headphones on for ultimate immersion, too), and I kinda am sentimental enough to share something.

There's this place in the Hissing Wastes which you reach on the far side of of the mountain ridge, and it's only accesible via a complicated maze of timber scaffolding. In a very narrow, horizontal fissure in the otherwise straight face of the mountain, a thousand feet above the ground, there's a little makeshift sleeping den with a bonfire and two bedrolls, facing the open space of the desert & the nightsky.

8ThQB9f.jpg

For some reason, this has got to be the single most cozy, most welcoming place I've ever seen in a video game in a long time.

As a wee lad, I would always feel the most comfortable & safe in narrow spaces - say, I built forts pretty much out of everything. You could just lay inside there and just think your weird geek kid thoughts -in a time before knowing sh*t about Star Wars was anywhere near cool- only there, they were all okay for a change - I am confident now and have a full life I enjoy living, yet apparently, I still value that sentiment today. Truth be told, I could barely leave, and I created a seperate save file to preserve the discovery. I know It's not much of a hidden thing; rather something normally functioning people simply don't pay attention to.

Under all the criticism, all the expectations we have and the high horses we bring to that imaginary battle... those video games that we love to play, discuss and feel so strongly about while we tear up every silly detail until the last frame rate debate - in the end they're just little pillow forts to help you imagine, and fuel thoughts that make you happy.

Sometimes, I propose, you just need to soak up these good things. The ones that don't explain themselves, and just let them be what they are.  Like a spirit from the Fade, they will just be good. And you will feel good, just like that.

P.S.: Thanks for listening to my near-dementia ramblings.

P.P.S.: Yes, I do know it's just two bedrolls and a bonfire.

So our friend has a new account?

It appears so. He is relentless in his mission to turn Cassandra into a pornstar or whatever it is.. fighting the good fight against that dreaded "gay agenda"!!

Man. Why do I ALWAYS miss out on the good **** when I'm away from here? Not fair.

I'm beginning to think that myself.

It's cause they know I'll rip them trolls apart so they come out to play when I'm inactive. ;)
