I think the only setting they could do now is a modern style one, with real life things in it instead of aliens or monsters etcetera.

IP stands for Intellectual Property. So, basically a new game/series.

ahah! so I got it right without knowing the proper term then hehe <3 . It better be modern kind of thing, there will always be some fantasy thrown in though.

Edit: squee top of the new page again!

Yes, Gaider moved to new IP. Patrick Weekes is now lead writer for DA. This seems to be something that was in the making for awhile.

Maybe. I can't remember but, Patrick prefers to write for characters, correct?

Newest IP I cannot wait for though is Cyberpunk 2077, being developed by CD Projekt RED.

I just hope Weekes introduces polearms into the series.
IMO, a spear or halberd would be far better than what passes for a greatsword in the DA series.

As someone who prefers to counterattack, few weapons allow me to fight that way like spears do.

Bait an attack, make em miss then make em pay. Works every time.

Weekes prefers to write complex characters, morally grey. According to his own words he's not good at writing villains. He said Nightmare taunting the party was his best effort writing a villain. When writing romances he writes for what he calls moments: Garrus head bump, Bull pulling up the Inquisitor's arms, Solas and the Vallaslin.

Ugh this night blows chunks.

*Volus wakes up and ambles off to the men's room for a midnight maintenance call then briefly hangs around to see what's up...*

Something like TSRs old spy game, "Top Secret" might be kinda cool.

topsec.jpg

OR... post-apolocyptic earth, again TSR inspired.  Nothing says fun like human-sized, mutated, heavily armed bunnies, right??

*And with that, the Volus collapses back into a heap in a dark corner, most likely unaware that he even got up and spoke*

I prefer polearms for their versatility. Nothing confuses opponents better than attacks from weird angles and from ranges that can change in the blink of an eye just by sliding the pole in your hands. I like confused opponents :P  Used this tactic kick/boxing too, though there i just switched my footing to a lefty without switching out my hand position to deliver a cross with the range of a jab and then switch my footing back to normal. It usually took a round or two for my sparring partners to catch on to the trick :P

Personally I'd love to see a Jade Empire sequel.
Bioware characters + hand to hand combat is so much win for me, even if I find myself nitpicking my character's technique.

Nice. ^_^

I just like that polearms let me dictate range since it's a hell of a lot easier to counter people when you can see their attacks from a mile away.

Same with kick/boxing, although I'm much better at kicking.
Draw them in, let them set their weight then chop the leg or interrupt them with a body kick.

Good morning, Drinkquisitors!

My timing is induced by drinking, and remembering to look at the screen from time to time.  Think of me as a rolling, drinking, non sequitur.

I.e. I would like my hashbrowns smothered, covered, and chunked.  (You must have spent time in the lower 48 on a desperate hi way somewhere in America to get that joke.)

To DA!!!  And to drinking!!!  And stump speeches...and apparently really cute imgur cats!!!

*Tequila is my friend*

Yeah he would be on the new IP, whatever IP stands for, I have no clue, but I'm guessing it's just like a new game idea or something.. I agree it would have to be something new, can I cross my fingers for a more renaissance / modern setting?

Pirates! pirates! so much please!

Or something steampunk would be nice too

Not enough archery pics and gifs the last few days! Lots of kitty cats though, can't complain too much.

*is so bored she's half done a character sheet on her Inquisitor* I should probably stop that and go back to trying to kill stuff.

I slept all day, only do casual work from home (tax accounting paperwork) for friends / family , and kid is back at a grandma's house so I have almost nothing to do. Other then distract myself doing pointless stuff lol

Is your work still sucky lynroy?

Oh it always is. Being in retail is an automatic 'this job sucks', but being at Walmart is an 'I'd rather be unemployed, this job sucks so bad'. I don't need the amount of stress this place has caused me.
