I will point out I found nightmare mode pretty easy once I started the attack on Haven quest on the past 5 characters I attempted nightmare with. Why do I keep changing the difficulty? not because it's hard, just because I get bored and start rushing the game, and maybe get a little lazy.

That was me! But that was on the most recent play through I finished. Punched for role playing reasons. The whole saving my life thing was two play throughs ago during my Solas-mance.
haha fair enough ! evil person you are though. I've punched Solas a couple of times, but not Dorian yet.. I just can't choose the option.. lol

easy difficulty - stuff dies fast, and you can rush the final half of the main story in around 2 hours (not-completionist style of course). getting bored is usually just bored of my current character as once I kill cory on it I create a new one. I have a problem with playing almost the exact same way each play-through though, I am finally managing to drag myself out of that rut so I can unlock keep tiles without showing the spoilers. Making for some interesting playthroughs. Might do a Solas-mance once I finish my Cass and Nightmare runs.

Solas and Dorian are two of my favorite people in Thedas. The Dorian punch was an accident. I just came up from punching Solas and was still laughing when talking to Dorian.haha fair enough ! evil person you are though. I've punched Solas a couple of times, but not Dorian yet.. that's even worse! punching him by accident.
Dorian is by far my favourite non-player character in DAI, making him second only to my Inquisitor (whoever that is at the time), Solas and Cassandra tie in next then the rest sort of bundle up after them. Honestly, there isn't a character I properly 'hate' ,

I personally keep her around just for my Inquisitor to disagree with and be rude to her. But I don't hate her, she's useful.

She is very well written. And the Bioware writers have said if fans love the character, then it's a success and If fans absolutely hate the character, it's a very big success In terms of writing them haha.

On my Solas-mance play through, I wasn't intentionally trying to ****** off Vivienne, but it seemed every thing I did just made her disapprove. Got to Skyhold and she was already rearranging my furniture. I had no idea what she was doing because there was none at the time.
I still don't understand the point of that, she was using that furniture not me.

I really want to see a video of that. I've never gotten her disapproval low enough prior to arriving in Skyhold to see it..

lol, true
. Though this sort of thing happens a lot, I always wonder what the actual official time frame is for Inquisition, I mean how many years between Conclave explosion to Cory death, mainly since stuff appears to happen fast when you're travelling around Thedas. I know David Gaider responded a tweet saying "I dunno, 3 years I suppose" but I'd like a more official answer haha.
I'm also cruel when Varric and Cassandra are fighting, I just stand and watch, seeing Cassandra throw a table is fun, then say "This would be funny if it wasn't so sad" , neither of them like that lol.

Solas has saved my ass so many times with Revival. Saved me the agony of many party wipes. I remember there was one time he sort of sacrificed himself and revived me. It happened on the play through when I romanced him so I like to imagine that played into his decision.
It was during my first nightmare run, Redcliffe castle and I was struggling. The two rifts in the courtyard were kicking my ass and I was starting to regret bringing Solas with me. Two mages, an archer, and one tank was not cutting it, I wanted to start over and switch out Solas for blackwall. Second wave of the second rift and it's just me and Solas barely hanging on. Solas can only take one more hit when I went down. Before the game switched me to the last party member standing, Solas uses Revival then goes down. I was back up and able to use stealth to go revive Cass, who held off the last shades like a champ so I could proceed to revive Solas and Dorian. Didn't regret bringing him after that!
Nothing in the game was difficult after that.
tl;dr Solas saved my life, bro for life.
Aren't they the best fights though! Honestly, the one fight I had that I enjoyed so much was in the Emerald Graves, I was just minding my own fecking business bringing down a giant and he brought all his buddies and their attack brontos. That was my PS3 mage playthrough, I think my party was the original one - Varric, Cass and Solas. It went on forever - it was the BEST fun. *Drinks to fond memories* Does anyone miss the old tactical menus though? I miss them so much, sniffles morosely. I wonder why they swapped them out.
With regard to Vivienne, I just can't get excited about her - I also think she finished Bastien off.

That's one of my favourite scenes in Inquisition. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry so I did both! *Drinks*
Edit: Did anyone ever get a change in dialogue from Cass. The first coupla times I got
'you weren't what I expected' and then another playthrough I'm pretty sure I got 'you're more than I hoped for'.
Something like that, I don't recall exactly.

I actually love how Varric finally loses is nonchalant attitude and get's really angry with Cassandra.
You can see in her eyes that she then just realized how she'd never saw it from his point of view; that Varric must have thought if Hawke had accompanied them to the conclave, he would have sent him to his death, just beause of her. That he actually has a reason that may be something other than mocking her.
Cool scene.

Her sentence there changes depending on your approval with her at the time. I've gotten both those you listed and I think something else when I had really low approval with her at the time but I can't remember what it was exactly sorry.

I have one playthrough with Vivi where my mage actually gets along with her and it really surprised me when I found myself liking her in that playthrough, as I had always pretty much detested her before that. As you guys have already said, very well written.
@Lady Lustre: Yeah, I have gotten both of those. I -think- the "not what I expected" one popped up with an Inky that initially wasn't getting along with but had then managed to improve the relationship over time. If that's really the case, that's some impressive scripting to keep track of all that crap.

Same thing happened to me with my mage play through. Found her words to be genuine and warm as opposed to cold and condescending, which was how I always interpreted them.
