Try running it on an Xbox 360, as I had to when I played it for the first time last year. Horror, that was. Even during the ending, audio stutters galore.

But.

I suppose it never crashed outright, per se. So it wasn't all bad.

bleh DAI does that to me on my pc , I have to use my bf's computer even though mine is much better then his. Mine uses AMD Mantle, which DAI accepts for amazing graphics but crashes constantly as well. Stupid, and fixes don't work.

It's more likely, if you have a decent pc, that your computer is too good to run it very well. Google for any crash fixes, there should be a few suggestions around.

It's more likely, if you have a decent pc, that your computer is too good to run it very well. Google for any crash fixes, there should be a few suggestions around.

Its a couple year old Dell.  Given that KOTOR is now twelve years old....this might be it I fear.

Did you try running the game in a different operating system? if your computer can do that of course. it's called compatibility mode, I use a windows 7 system and can open those 10+ year old games in a compatibility mode for any previous windows operating system.

Its really funny I made it through Taris with no problems.  Get to Dantoine however.

So I think what I am going to do, vis-à-vis The Witcher series, is wait until Tuesday and try out numero 3.  If that seems like something I'll enjoy, then I'll go back and commit myself to 1 and 2.  If it is pretty clear I wouldn't, then I don't need to waste any time trying to master 1, and by extension, 2.
