PirateQuisition Competition - Mast Climbing
Roly: Okay, as you can see here, we've erected a mast and rigging, with proper crow's nest and all, here in the courtyard. After the enemy ship boarding, we've modified the rules somewhat for clarification. You must actually CLIMB. No grappling, no levitating, no anything but climbing. Fastest time to the crow's nest wins.
Josie: Goodness, it's so... big! I'm quite flushed.
Rivaini: Get the hell out of my way, everyone. I'll show you how real pirates climb masts!
*Rivaini proceeds to scramble up the rigging without once losing her footing, gets to the crows nest and moons everyone*
Roly: Maker's breath! I really don't see anyone beating that time...
Iron Bull: I liked the flourish at the end.
Roly: Next up, our glorious Will of the Herald!
*Iron Roy begins steady, but it becomes clear soon that she hasn't yet fully recovered from the rum competition. About half-way up she slips and falls, luckily tangling her ankle in the rigging. Hanging upside down, her pants slip, showcasing her bum to all and sundry*
Josie: The Will! Someone, quick, save h... wait, what is that on her bum? I believe it says "Elven Glory!" Oh, she must be a fan of the band!
*Everyone's gaze besides Josie slides over to Solas*
Solas: *cough* How entirely unexpected. I think I've forgotten something in the fade. If you'll excuse me...
Ashaantha: Bull, get under Roy, I'm gonna cut her down! *Ashaantha scurries up the rigging, saves Roy, who Bull catches with ease, then continues on to the crow's nest.
Josie: Such compassion! She would have done well in time had she not stopped to save The Will.
Iron Bull: Here comes your gal, Roly. Flawless technique, I'll give her that, but she just couldn't beat Rivaini's time.
Roly: "Flawless technique" indeed. I'll vouch for that. *winks at Delilah up in the Crow's nest*
*Josie lets out a loud squeal as a rabbit hops by, hits the rigging, and climbs up a single rope thread all the way to the crow's nest, after which the rabbit disappears in a puff of smoke and Bunny appears*
Roly: MORRIGAN!!
Morrigan: The rules said nothing about shapeshifting, DrinkQuisitor, and she paid me fairly for my services.
Iron BUll: She's got you there, beach ball.
Roly: Fine. Next up, Tragedienne!
*Tragedienne begins a steady but somewhat slow ascent, pausing periodically to wax dramatically on the joys and perils of mast climbing*
Roly: Well, that was certainly entertaining!
*The rest of the contestants proceed to take their turns at the mast. Several fall, some break bones, but healers on hand ensure everyone will be ready for the next contest*
Roly: Hehehe, well this was certainly a fun one. Okay, now for the points breakdo..
Paragon: Wait, wait! I'm coming! *All heads turn as Lady Lustre bursts out from behind the bushes wearing her "I love.. Rick" t-shirt, revealing a very chagrined couple of dandys (Cullen and Michel, of course) hiding back there* Sorry, so sorry, lost track of time.
*Paragon proceeds to bypass the rigging entirely and adroitly shimmies right up the mast itself, shattering Rivaini's time! Reaching the crow's nest, she turns to Cullen and Michel and winks* Thanks for the mast practice, boys!
Roly: WOW! Stunning upset! Okay, now for the *pauses and looks around...* points breakdown!
Paragon: 100
Rivaini: 90
Delilah: 80
Dazzle: 70
Poodle: 60
Bunny: 50
Tragedienne: 40
Badonkadonk: 30
Madame Dame: 20
Ashaantha: 10
Iron Roy: honorable mention!
Iron Bull: Huh, no men in the top ten.

Sorry, guys and dolls, but I think the archery one is going to have to be the last competition. It's not getting worse, but it's a steady seepage of water, so I'm gonna have to keep an eye on my basement all day. I friggin' hate saying this, but I hope I don't get anymore rain for a week or so.
EDIT: Unless someone else wants to take over after archery?

Archery... I don't know whether what I'm doing passes as "archery", but I know I can shoot three marbles at once off a table in Nevarra if you dared me.
