There's not much character customization in terms of appearance, but there are a lot of skills, equipment and story choices to make the character unique.

 

About the plot, it's complicate.

I am loving playing as Kara so far.  Its both painful and kinda nice and refreshing, she is bumping heads with everyone.  Really suspicious and bitter sounding and aggressive, its taking her a while to warm up to her people.  But it is happening.

ANd it is so wonderful and refreshing to be playing a Bow rogue again.  Mind you I think I will pump my earlier levels into Suberterfuge.  I did not like the damage I was taking during the tutorial so should probably focus on damage mitigation.

You know what was odd though?  I could not download the DLC upgrade pack for the Deluxe Edition because it would not take my updated card.  *sigh*.  Oh crap I just think I figured it out hold on.

Interesting bit. I started recently a playthrough as bow rogue (Lawrence, that I stopped and deleted to go back to DW daggers, reasons in the spoiler, more related to play style, and not to my response, feel free to skip it).

The reason for me to switch was the difficulty to find an efficient and not role-repetitive team, given the faulty AI mechanics for melee DPS (keeping Iron Bull alive was annoying, he's disappointingly squishy, even with guard-generating talents and appropriate gear level).

 

I tried to instill in that character the personality of the player (I am agnostic, so Lawrence didn't believe in the Marker) and I was able to walk in thin ice with Cassandra, not gaining, but not losing approval either, however, when the "flirt" option showed up he indeed lost approval with her when I picked it
