There ate three fade-touched materials that generate guard on a hit. Silverite, obsidian and onyx, I believe. In my first two PTs I crafted weapons with FT-obsidian. A staff for my knight-enchanter, and a bow for my tempest archer.

I'm playing a 2H warrior this time, and I was wondering, if I craft armor with any of these materials, will guard be generated when I get hit, or is the guard-generating only good for weapons?

You will still get guard but it will be a bit slower due to 2h weapons swinging slower. Im not sure if hitting multiple enemies with an aoe 2 hander will generate guard per hit, that would be OP.

Well I was wondering about putting the FT material in the armor and not the weapon, so that when my warrior gets hit, guard is generated, instead of generating guard through offense.

It does not matter where you put it, on hit is on hit even when placed in armor.
