In both ME1 and ME2, I have enjoyed Infiltrator more than soldier. But I think that has alot to do with that I enjoy sniping a ton. The most SWEETNESS you can get is having an enemy rushing into your face, scoping, and pulling the trigeer so fast the scope graphic doesn't have time to come up...instantly unscoping to see your foe's head blown off. As a personal, "make this fun", I make it a point not to uuse any other weapon until I run out of sniper ammo.

Infiltrator is an even better version of a Soldier than the Soldier class is. Being able to simply go invisble and flank and enemy with no resistance or simply bail out of cover when your spot has been flanked.

Plus Solidiers really only get Assault Rifles and Adrenaline, and once a whole group of Geth Hunters flank your position, the last thing you care about is how fast your gun goes or how slow you can make shooting.

P.S. I went through Insanity with an Infiltrator. When you realize it takes good time too kill enemies you need to be able to run away occasionally. If I had a dime for everytime I saved myself from a "Critical Mission Failure" with the cloak, I would be filthy rich.

Lol! Well written post. I'm sitting here trying to figure out which class to play next, and this post helped- I'm getting sick of seeing the "Crit Fail" screen!

Depends... alot.

Snipping will get you near everything.....well for me except the platform ambush in the collector ship, and the praetorian fighting. BUT if you have already heavy weapons....which I dont think since you are starting a new proffesion....I would say soldier???

If your going for Insanity I say....first play once then have the bonuses for Insanity.

Both are incredibly useful. Resilience of soldiers, and cloak....duno duno man.

I personally would say Soldier... but then again out of my two guys, I favor assault rifles over snipers most of the time so I might talking a bit bias in favor of soldiers.

They are very similar.  The one downfall of the Infultrator is no assult rifles (especially since you need the widow sniper).  I went with Soldier just for that.  The tech abilities are mediocre, and the solder can just use adrenline rush to slow time.

I never got the love over Adrenaline Run. It always seemed the worst class skill out of them all. I'd understand if you could move normally while everyone else was slowed down, but otherwise, Cloak saved me ten times over Adrenaline Run ever did.

I find both soldier and infiltrator fun to play. Both cloak and adrenaline rush are effective and powerful. I would start a game with both and see what you like.

The only major difference for me between cloak and adrenaline rush is that cloak feels believable in the game. Adrenaline Rush (and Charge even more so) both feel contrived and out of place in Mass Effect 2 to me. They both seem gimmicky and play more like superhero powers than hi-tech military based sci-fi powers IMHO - even though they are both fun. Someone noted above that sometimes when you use cloak the enemies will try to take cover - I like that, it feels real. I also like the fact that some of the enemies will comment when you engage the cloak and that specific enemies will use it against you.

So for me, Cloak is just more believable and as a result more enjoyable - even though the gameplay with AR and charge is still a lot of fun. Just my opinion - and something that may or may not effect how much you like or dislike a given class.
