So I always stuck to mass effect and bought the dragon age games but never could seem to get into them.  I suppose between the mass number of games I have and specifically skyrim, I am seemingly lost in dragon age.  So a rift opens and I am the inquisitor to stop it.  I ran through a cave popped out on the other side and got wasted by a dragon.

Now I see that there are a few limited mods on Nexus Mod manager and none on Moddb, since I completely fail at lore jumping into necessary mods wouldn't be a problem, are there mods?

Finally there was an update today, I found something saying the deluxe edition stuff wasn't showing up cause of a file location however there was no date or anything.  So what did the recent update do?

Because of the engine, the game is difficult to mod. If you are used to mods to add god mode, adjust attribute points, level and so on, you will want Cheat Engine and, the appropriate table for CE to do that with DAI. Google it, read the forum posts there for DAI and, decide if you want to use it or not.

That dragon, the Frostback, is level 14 iirc, so you'll have to come back for that later when you're a higher level. And they are supposed to be pretty tough fights (unless you grossly outlevel them).

You can take out the Hinterlands dragon at about level 4.  When you first come near the area where it is on top of the mountain, (this is before it flies over to the other area where it lands on the ground), stand at the mouth of the cave you come out of and target it with a mage.  Give the rest of your party the "Hold" command and start shipping away with your mage.  As long as you don't actually exit the cave it will stay on top of the mountain and it won't shoot you.  My preferred place to stand is on the outcropping of rock on the right hand side at the mouth of the cave- that way the dragonlings won't get you either. It takes a long time to chip away at the dragon, but when you are done, it will give you about 3 levels.  This method also works with the Crestwood dragon (you have to let that one land on the ground first), the Storm coast dragon and the Exalted plains.
