I just hope that they can resist the temptation of bombarding the game with their idea of who the player should 'back' or support. Their presentation in II and Origins was on point, Inquisition was an adventure game in comparison.

More Story
Meaningful quests with impact on the story
No forced outfits - let us change our clothes whenever we want
More personal antagonist - we don't need a big bad 100% evil. Too one dimensional. Gray, think in terms of gray.
more/better cutscenes - these bring the game down to size and more personal
Better relationships with companions - the arc felt artificial and forced (and meaningless) much of the time here

More interesting and less filler content. If they aren't able to fill the open areas with meaningful quests, they should return to their old linear level design.

Primary:
- No more open world. This was an ill-conceived attempt to ape Skyrim which just made the game into a chore. Despite many, many playthroughs of its predecessors, I've played through Inquisition only twice but am loath to do another run due to how much of a slog the zones are.
- Choice. BioWare really needs to make the Keep and in-game choices have a far greater impact. This means a branching narrative, plots being opened or closed off, story-based rather than cosmetic changes and variations in the ending. Yes, it's hard work, but the pay-off will be more than worth it.
- A rich, living world. Despite its scope (some might say because of it...), Inquisition felt very empty and static. Areas undergo negligible changes, NPCs exist solely as quest-givers and the only two urban environments we visit are sparsely populated and, frankly, rather sterile. The wilderness should be peppered with variation and distinction, teeming with oddities and, in terms of their size, relatively small. Urban environments, on the other hand, should teem with characters, quests and trade, they should be a central fixture in the story rather than a one-stop for a single main quest and secondary feature after that. It would also be nice to see NPCs have lives outside the story, seeing them going about their occupations, for example (oddly, this is one thing Inquisition should have "aggressively checked out" in Skyrim, but didn't...)
- Art style. This wasn't as bad as Dragon Age II, but I can't shake the feeling that DA's art style doesn't fit its tone or themes. Some of the more cartoonish aesthetics were alleviated thanks to Frostbite, but much of the game's design seemed too rounded and stylistic, and this diminished some of what were meant to be the game's darker moments. I'd like to see a return to an art style which is more grounded in reality.
Secondary:
- Fetch quests! I'd have put this in primary but given that it's a common complaint I doubt that it's gone unnoticed. I don't really have anything to say that hasn't been said already, but they need to be scrapped or significantly reduced for the next game. Side quests should almost always have an interesting plot of their own, if that means that there are less of them then so be it.
- Combat. I care less about gameplay than other aspects but combat does need to be reworked a little. The pace was about right, but I don't like the fact we're restricted to 8 ability slots, nor that we can't change gear or abilities during battle. It has to be said, a lot of the visual effects of abilities are simply ridiculous, this isn't an MMO or JRPG - again, a firmer basis in reality is needed here. The tactical camera also needs some work.
- Scale back on the humour? I know that "snark" is a popular feature around here, but it's ubiquity in-game is becoming irritating. It's fine if the player initiates it and in certain circumstances which are clearly designed to be whimsical, but it should never make the game descend into true comedy (this means we shouldn't be able to have sex with an octogenarian aristocrat, nor should goats be thrown at Skyhold's walls, nor we sit in judgement over a wooden box...).
- Dialogue. No more dialogue based on personalities - they are shallow, trite and limiting. Dialogue should be tailored to the situation in which it is to be spoken, nothing more. In an ideal world, I'd also like to see the dialogue wheel scrapped or significantly changed, but it seems plain that isn't going to happen.
- UI. I prefer the classic, parchment inspired UI in Origins to its sleeker successor.

1-Make a better Story
2-Make said story filled with tension , suspence and alot of others emotions .
3-Make every map tied to the Main Story , cose I'm not playing Skyrim .
4- Don't Aim BIG , Aim moderate and heavy Story content .
5-Add more content for replaybility . Seriously , I played BG2 so much without being bored . can't say the same here .
6-Focus on the Story! its the Soul of the Game . less Graphic shinie , more story that leave you remembering what you just played .

There's — too much in DAI! Or maybe I'm just not keeping up very well. It's great fun once I get playing, and the vast environments are gorgeous, but it takes me effort to actually start and sometimes the game leaves me feeling almost exhausted that in my hours I haven't actually gotten anywhere. Things could have been tightened a bit, but I admit I appreciate the take on open world after being locked up in Kirkwall for years.
It looks like the wishing compass, insofar as this thread is one, points towards building a narrative where character ambition is the obvious foundation rather than the icing on top, and I agree, though I imagine it's one of the very expenisve aspects of development. I'll echo several of the earlier posters and emphasise the appeal of villains who aren't all Eldritch Ancient Powers. The antagonists are people, too (thanks Threnn)! Just don't call me out on this if I'm mistaken about Cory, I don't actually know anything about him yet.
Another quasi-character who deserves attention: The codex! I'd like to see it innovated so that it's not just the impassable information block that it's notoriously known to be. Make the interface easier to navigate, give it pictures (sounds like a good place for concept art that doesn't make it into expensive hardback), maybe a personal notes function to make it feel like it's actually my journal. Speaking of which, we've had incoming letters to our characters for a while now, but not actual correspondence, even though it seems to allow for reasonable character interaction that strains the budget less than conversations.
Conveniently, Thedas is so large that a few more titles could easily be milked from it without me calling it cheap. Something low-key would be nice after all the Champions and Heroes we've had going though, and I still want to see where we could have ended up with a more organic DA2. So — I wish for something local, with a tighter party, set in an area we haven't seen much or anything of yet, maybe (Antiva sounds nice, nudge nudge). BW really built on the home base and integrity aspects of the game with Inquisition, but I'm not sure they've found place and space enough for it among all the other things going on.
Finally, Lady Trevelyan requests a larger wardrobe. She requests a wardrobe, for Andraste's sake!

1 - Somewhere to stash all our extra gear. Previous DA games had it, so why did they remove it? Put it back for DA4.
2 - Less fetch quests. I don't mind a few but there are far too many to bother caring about. And seriously, screw shards.
3 - Healing spells. I know Patrick Weekes said that they were removed to make the game more "challenging and thought inducing" but the only thought I'm having is "I need a ******* healing spell". Or at least let us make and carry more potions.
4 - Moar Solas plz.

Start out designing the game with multiple playable races in mind, instead of human only. DAI makes it kinda apparent that elves, dwarves, and qunari were an afterthought :/

I think they should take the sort of single-player MMO style to the next level. Say have a Tevinter vs Qunari setting. Allow the player to choose which side they support and have the game capable of playing out drastically different depending on which side they support. They could still wrap it all up nicely in the final act of the game to add some continuity for the followup games.
This would add so much replayability to the game... I think it would be awesome to see.

This may be a case of "reality is stranger than you think." The latter two don't seem out of place at certain times or places in history. We are living in a world where the warriors of certain historical cultures went into battle naked, and court proceedings were brought against animals. As for the former, octogenarians can actually have sex - though I have no idea what part of DAI you're talking about.Scale back on the humour? I do wonder if Bioware tried to do too much - making the game for new gen, old gen, pc, multiplayer, open world, story/character driven. character creator etc etc. I do hope next game will focus more on the SP and new gen.

DAI was my GOTY easily, but when it comes to recommendations:
1. Less Fetch Quests, More Side Quests.
In DAO there were tons of quests that gave you a lot of choice when it came to handling them, even if they were just dialogue. I'd rather have a moment like the merchant/priestess fight in Lothering. That gave you a ton of insight into what was happening in the village, and also let you make a choice, as insignificant as it may have been in the end. "Make our choices matter" has become such a rallying cry I think it took away from moments where you made a choice that didn't really change much, like that. Just in general, there is a difference between a fetch quest and a side quest and I think everyone sees what that is.
2. More main story.
Speaks for itself, the actual main story in this game too short.
3. "Exploration" is pointless if the world we have to explore has nothing in it.
Exploration comes with open world, but going off the beaten path was always just a waste of time. Yea the world is "gorgeous" or w'e, but there is very little in said world that is anything other than shards and fetch quests.
4. Clothes/equipment need to be improved. Especially with this game being so hard to mod.
DAI is so far behind other WRPGs in this. The pajamas are embarrassing. how the **** did anyone think that was a good idea? Also I literally am so over Bioware's character creators when it comes to hair. Why do males get scores of ugly long hairstyles and very few attractive short styles, meanwhile women barely get any long hair options? It's equally frustrating for both groups lol.
5. Bring back level scaling.
Please.
Things I recommend they keep:
Race choice! Playing as a Qunari was ****** epic.
Crafting was good and can be improved.
Dialogue wheel worked in this game. Probably the best its been.
Voice actor choice - awesome. I played with deep voice male and thought he did an aight job. No Mark Meer/Jennifer Hale, but wasn't bad.
War Table was good, I just wish we got to actually see what our decisions did.
I loved enough of the companions where I am satisfied with them, but if you are going to introduce a major character, at least try to give them a personality (WTF, Solas)
This is after 1 playthrough, I usually like games a lot more in subsequent ones so we'll see.
Please don't replace Flemeth with ****** Solas. Please.

1 - less areas that are more tied to the main plot. I think they could have easily cut 3 areas from DAI and merge them with the others and still had an enormous game. There's 3 areas with undead and when I'm burning the 4th body pit it's already become a chore.
2 - less companions with more content. This might be just my personal preference but with 3 advisors we have 12 people with dialogue, quests and romance which is too much imo. I'd rather have 8-9 people total with more content each and more relevance to the plot. I find a large number of companions difficult to manage with some that I never use.
3 - change the loot system! I'm usually not one of those players that cares much about stats and loot but the loot distribution in DAI is so strange that even I noticed. So I get that maybe the point was to have the player craft everything but in that case why do the good schematics never drop and drop so rarely overall? In areas with level 14 enemies I'm finding level 8 special purple gear that isn't useful to me anymore. On the other hand I used Trydaa's staff through the WHOLE game since I got nothing better and I spend huge chunks of playtime wearing the same armour.
4 - improved ending. The final fight was really disappointing. I was expecting this huge battle with all my companions contributing in ME2 style or at least like DA2 where they show up to help you in the final battle. I was expecting some last minute hard choices and sacrifices. I liked that the victory party made a comeback from DAO I liked the oppotrunity to talk to everyone once the enemy is defeated. I missed the ending slides of the little choices that DAO had - like what happened to Dagna, Bevin and Bella if you helped them and I wish DAI had more of that - for example what happened to Fairbanks and his refugees, Loranil and his clan, Crestwood...

- A classically handsome knightly gay or bisexual male as a love interest. Either clean shaven or with some attractive stubble. Someone like Cullen, Alistair or Sebastian in other words.
- Less focus on being the hero. More focus on being part of a living breathing world..
- More customisation options for weapons and armour. Let us project the appearance of one item onto another.

No, I disagree. When similar events did take place in history, I perceive them as morbid rather than funny (the Cadaver Synod comes to mind). Being told of smearing goats blood on the walls of enemies is great, it fleshes out Avar culture, but then showing a goat being slapped against Skyhold's walls? How is that anything other than silly?
Similarly, judging Florianne's corpse might have been interesting if it had been her actual corpse (see Cadaver Synod point above). However, we judge a box. And all the judgement are humorous. The intention is clearly comedic.
As for the final point, I'm not complaining about the fact an older woman had sex, I'm complaining about, once again, the frivolous way it was presented (you can view the scene here, by the way). This is a pretty serious quest, but a comic tone was once again selected for this particular outcome, and it was once again out of place.
