1: Awkward to have romantic conversation and a random NPC wanders through the background or just stands around too close. I think this could be handled better in future games. Maybe some scenes should take place in areas where random NPC's don't wander into.
2: I realize I can swing the camera around during conversations, but I don't want to "have" to swing the camera around. I'd like the camera to fix on the speakers of the conversation as appropriate to capture what's being said and the reaction to what's being said. In DA:I, I often struggle (PC) to get the camera placed correctly. Oftentimes, I never do get it right. NOTE: If someone is eavesdropping, it'd be cool to catch their reactions...
3: Characters oftentimes don't make it to the correct position during conversations so that the talker can possibly face away or off to the side of the person they are chatting with. I think this could be handled better.
4: Customization: I think it was a step in a better direction than ME and previous DA games, but... everything needs some refining. It's hard work not to end up with a hideous character because you didn't tweak from every possible angle, didn't tone down makeup appropriately, or couldn't find a good skin tone / complexion combination. I was glad to see that we had so many options... the problem was the base of those options were ugly. Hairstyles were bad. Some of the animations in conjunction with the facial customizations were shockingly bad in-game.
5: Wardrobe changes - RPG'rs like to tweak our toons!
The ability to purchase, create and change casual outfits is something I wish for.
6: More hairstyle options and the ability to tweak/change hairstyles in-game. Have long hair. Mid-length and short hairstyles. Thanks for the afro's! But there were too many similar afro's. The half-headed shaved style was great on one side, but awkward from behind and the other side of the head. The ponytail and updo were boring, even with those awkward tendrils. The short hair with the shaved sides (mohawk style) was by far the most fresh for femInq. Thank you for that one.
7: The fight with Corphy was anti-climatic. I'm glad to have the chance to defeat him... it just seemed too predictable... not sure how to express this. It was just another boss battle then game over. I'd like more. Endings are hard and I can't compare this to anything other than the ending of ME2. The Collector base was awe-inspiring to play. Best end-game experience I've had. (others may disagree. this is ok. but for me, ME2 was epic in ending).
8: Collections: I liked the ability to create unique armor in-game. What annoyed me was that even with the perk for better schematics... I wasn't really blown away with the final look of the armor I created. (Rogue). Really disappointed with dawnstone being "pink" looking armor. Even my femInq was shouting "Don't make me wear that!"
9: Add the ability for different body types (a la SWTOR) for our toons.
I really enjoy playing DA:I. 3rd playthru now (didn't finish the second one, but saved the game folder into a compressed file so that I can revisit it later). DA:I is vastly improved from DA2 (and I really wanted to like Hawks story, but it was pretty bleak, limited). I love having romance options! I love the huge meta map and all the areas being huge. I like to explore so the huge environments are delightful to me. It can be daunting though, especially if I'm in a hurry to get to a certain point in the game and have to do so much in an area before I can further the story (Hinterlands for example).
Anyway, thanks for this game!

Im not posting this to promote or fanboy witcher over DA.
But watch from 2:15 onwards, I wish they thought like this.
Otherwise we will get more slapped on multiple and even more collectables/gathering
Actually TW 2 had similar problems, really short story especially the ending. Of course their semi-open world in TW 2 was a lot better, the main story was really good and the side missions too but overall meh character development aside from Geralt, Iorveth and Roch.
My problem with TW and CDPR is the really bad butchering of female characters desigh and lore(because sex and erotic sells?), they really need to improve that asap. Bioware is leagues away in that department, CDPR really need to leave the PR ideas of fanservice (Ciri with wheels and some really skimpy costume and eye makeup? no tks) behind and respect the original work.

This is what I would add for DA4:
- use the frostbite 3 engine since Bioware already knows its ins and outs now
- have a storage chest
- have a main world campsite
- interact with NPC's that say hi as you walk on by or are talking about you and have mini quests
- interact with party characters whenever you wish
- buy and find gifts to annoy or romance any party character whenever you wish
- change arnor, weapons, all items, on the fly between all party characters whenefver you wish
- more interactive and no more static non interactive eye candy everywhere
- continue the open world idea
- use The Keep to import your choices from DAO, DA2 and DAI
- have whorehouses with more adult cut scenes and themes
- DA4 is more for young adults and not kids
- able to eat food, open barrel lids, move potted plants, sit down in chairs and at tables, to eat, chat, etc.
- you can swim and dive to find chests, craftable materials, sunken ships, caves and attack aggressive fishes
- have a hold your breath bar so you when to surface and not drown
- buy and build a boat to go across large lakes and oceans, too far to swim
- buy a deed and build a large place anywhere in DA4, customize inside and outside like crazy
- have romanced character stay there or travel with you
- after game is finsihed, romanced character is still with you and with more personal quests
- have a pet or two
- restore complex skill trees, and inventory system
- cut back on the hack and slashing
- all side filler quests have to do with the main story, plots and character quests
- long game
- optimized for PC and console at launch
- deside how long you will nap or sleep
- in sleeping bag or tent and explore inside tents
- make a fire to keep away the animals at night
- use same voice acting, long cut scenes and music
- less to almost no swearing, it takes away from the game
- have a more balanced options for straight, bi and gay characters.
- not politically correct
- more gore, blood, details and dark game, for young adults and not kids

Didn't Mind open world
Didn't Mind the humorous aspects
Corypheus was somewhat cliche in ways but he did at least have the philosophical aspect of his quest going on to separate him from other bad guys.
This was an absolutely beautiful game, no doubt about that.
Improvements?
Make the tactical camera better
More sub-characters/More interaction with Agents
I think they made a mistake trying to mesh the Exalted Marches into this game. Might have better if that had stayed a DLC and focused on the basic story line for the game more.
Yeah; hair has always been a problem with these games.
Don't mind having races but if cutting back on races meant better/more involved games I could deal with that. Of course part of it comes down to ultimately there only being so many games. If say from the start each game was based on one race w/its various aspects of culture/lore being the focus that would have been a totally cool way to do things.
Some people might disagree but that's just me.
If the tag-line is "lead them or fall" have a bit more actual "leading" going.
One thing I can't help wondering is; considering how much extra time they got......exactly how basic would this have game had been if released on their original schedule?
Also; don't rely on notes/codex as much to tell the basic story or how events are effecting their surroundings.

I agree with most of what this developer says... except...
I appreciate The Witcher/Witcher 2... but as a female gamer I want the option to Role Play as a woman. CD Projekt Red folks haven't "got" it that even male players want the option to play as a woman. It worries me that they think it's catering to current and soon to be gaming trends to have a female character.
If it's about "the gamer" what's wrong in acknowledging that every gamer isn't a white hetero male that wants to play as a white hetero male? What if the reason why it's the majority demographic is simply because it's the demographic that's been targeted and catered to since the beginning of hard-core gaming?
This doesn't bode well for CD's upcoming Cyberpunk game... which I've been patiently waiting for.

You didnt watch the video did you? i posted it because of the message he was giving, the philosphy about how they make the games. its got nothign to do with whether witcher 2 is good or not. TW2 could be a pile of **** for all i care, its just the way game devs should think.
hes basically saying dont follow the trends because you see other people doing it, dont slap on extra things to try and add value, focus on what you are good at etc. don't cheat the customers, make the game for the gamers not for the $$$$ etc etc.

Have an ending quest that takes more than ten minutes to complete. That was my biggest gripe.
But more companion interaction/involvement with main quests and more involved side quests would also be nice.
Keep the open world. I love the exploration. Maybe fewer "open worlds" to develop more story content within those regions would also help.

Eh....not really; unlike DA games, The Witcher games are about one specific individual. That is basically what they are saying, all this other stuff detracts from the main storyline and lore to add it.
If the main story line had been about a black female in an african based fantasy setting. Giving options to play as male and white would detract from that as well.

Geralt is a set character from Andrzej Sapkowski's books of which the Witcher games are continuing the story of. Complaining about not being able to make Geralt a woman is like complaining that you can't choose Batman's gender in the Arkham games.

- More main Story missions
- More sidequests which actually have cutscenes or at least conversations instead of the only interaction with the Apostate/demon/cult being you killing them.
- Generally more cutscenes or conversations with non-companions because they are almost none in the game.
- Demons need to talk again. They could do so in the past, but in Inquisition there are three demos that can talk. Four if you count cole, but you only meet Envy in templar runs. Or maybe they just don't want to talk to the Inquisitor because in codex entries they are still perfectly willing to talk, make deals and generally f*ck with the minds of their victims. Either way that's boring.
- Remove those horrible requisition quest or at lest don't have them repeat endlessly. It's annoying and I don't see any point. Is this some leftover from a DA MMO that was planned? Are we grinding reputation here? Why does the university of Orlais want to make infinite studies of iron on the stormcoast? It serves no purpose at all and those are literally the worst quests Bioware has ever produced. The actual repuation grinds in SWTOR are 100 times more fun than those god dammed requisition quests.
- I'm also no fan of the open world but it can stay as long as there are a bit more interesting sidequests.

Let me just line up some things for you. There were choices in inquisition.
Mage-Templar. Ally or conscripted
Ruler of Orlais.
Divine.
Banish/Not banish wardens.
Hawke or Warden.
All of the judgements.
Rebuild the Seekers or not.
Your inquisition ends up as a military, diplomat, or spy organization.
Who drinks from the well.
Kieran or no Kieran.
And many more.

But The Witcher is the continuation of the books so it does not make sense if Geralt was not the main character.
This is Geralts story they have specifically stated that many times now.
CD Projekt should be commended for making the game they want to make.

The premise of DA:I really underwhelmed me because I expected it to be a real world-shaking event we were dealing with. What we got was something that was no longer very threatening after the intro and was dealt with shortly after recruiting mages/Templars. Then it was just clean-up duty.
For DA:4 I want to see something world-shaking centered around Solas. Like, an elven god war.
As for open-world, I did not mind it as much as I thought I would (never liked it before DA:I). However, having maps like the Hinterlands (larger than all previous DA maps combined) is utterly ridiculous and should not happen again.

Um, it did take at least 3 or 4 years. 2012-2014.
Yeah I know that, friend. Actually I am satisfied with DAI and this is what I want Bioware/EA to keep. DAI has proven that given rich resource (time, money, labour) Bioware can still produce excellent games.

OK, you have a point. I usually don't like being pulled out of the world by humor, and I felt discomfort about that when the goat flew, but other parts could be taken as in-world humor - as if the Inquisitor couldn't quite believe what was happening before the details were explained, similar to how some real-world laws can have really weird consequences for a number of reasons. All in all, the balance was not flawless but acceptable, though I agree that these things need special care. And the scene in that video - yeah well, it wouldn't been better to omit that. No, I disagree. When similar events did take place in history, I perceive them as morbid rather than funny (the Cadaver Synod comes to mind). Being told of smearing goats blood on the walls of enemies is great, it fleshes out Avar culture, but then showing a goat being slapped against Skyhold's walls? How is that anything other than silly?
Similarly, judging Florianne's corpse might have been interesting if it had been her actual corpse (see Cadaver Synod point above). However, we judge a box. And all the judgement are humorous. The intention is clearly comedic.
As for the final point, I'm not complaining about the fact an older woman had sex, I'm complaining about, once again, the frivolous way it was presented (you can view the scene here, by the way). This is a pretty serious quest, but a comic tone was once again selected for this particular outcome, and it was once again out of place.

One major thing I missed off my original list - show, don't tell. I don't want to patronise BioWare since this is a basic rule of storytelling, but it was a rule which was broken in Inquisition with the war table missions.
This was a shame, since many of the quests there had so, so much potential to be compelling parts of the main story, if not some of the most dramatic scenes BioWare have ever done. I mean, can you imagine the Venatori fireship crashing into Denerim's docks? Or the Dalish helping to overthrow the lord who poisoned his wells with red lyrium?
These could have been extraordinarily intense quests which could easily have been integrated and could have various outcomes depending on player choice, yet their actual presence in the game felt underwhelming.
To repeat, if BioWare keeps one piece of advice in mind for the next game's plot - show, don't tell.

I think we're running against the limits of what can be done in one game here, rather than negligence by the writers. I think the war table adds immensely to the impression that I'm running a large organization, and it's completely clear to me that it would've been impossible to give an on-screen impression of even a small part of the operations, to say nothing of making them playable. Some of them are complex enough for a whole game of their own. Since the alternative to the off-screen reports we were getting would likely be not having them at all, I'm rather fine with the way they choose to do things. One major thing I missed off my original list - show, don't tell. Also, the story is told from the perspective of our Inquisitors, and they weren't there, so nobody broke any fundamental storytelling guidelines. In addition, it is important to show the Inquisitor is a leader who can't personally take part in everything their organization does. So the WT shows exactly what's needed. You, as the Inquisitor, are reading reports. In order to have everything on-screen, the story would've needed to switch its point of view.

Dialogue wheel worked in this game. Probably the best its been.
Speaking of this, the way you get new wheel options from some of your Inquisition Perks resonates with me; makes me feel like Inky's actually educating herself! While it could certainly be taken further, it's a step up from just adding dialogue options based on the character's stats.

Hi
Here's my two cents worth.
Have a story that's really a story, and develope it.
I'm tired of bad guy wants to be a God storylines.
Lets have a story with twists and turns, don't let us know exactly where it's going right from the start.
Surprise us.
I mean in this game we knew right from the get go that we were going to defeat the bad guy in a big shoot out at the end, everything else was just filler and then the big shootout was easy and didn't last long.
What if we don't even know who the bad guy is, what about some mystery, people are disappearing and no one know why or how?
Strange things are happening, but what's causing them.
I want to really get involved in the storyline, so I can't wait to find out what happens next.
This isn't an MMO, in this there is only one the player involved so everything can be aimed at one character, make him or her work for the solutions.
And stop with the hunt and fetch quests.
Just stick to the storyline and make it take a hundred hours to work through.
If you are going to kill dragons then there should be a reason, not just because they are there.
Let's see them carrying off villagers, and marauding the landscape.
Let's have people pleading with us to rid the land of them, and offering us something in exchange.
Anyway I liked the game but I felt more involved in Skyrim, then this game, and I still want a real story told.
If this means that it's less open world that's fine with me.

More really hard choices: example how crestwood was during pre-alpha, choosing who dies ( kaidan/Ashley or hawke/warden ).
Really want a decision like what the mayor crestwood had to go through during the blight, but necessarily related the blight. maybe a plague and have to decide the burn the city/village?
Get rid of the stupid RNG loot drop **** and LOTS of armor choice, not the same armor with a new shoulder pad.
Maybe be able to buy up a business or something like that.
A companion that is already has a wife/husband and kids back home or two companions that will get together no matter.
and IF our warden appears and if there is a need to the joining ritual, i want my warden to recite the lines that they say before it.
