Samson calpernia like clarel is just another retarded mage that spreads disasters (we have plenty of them in series) thinking that trusting guy that you obviously can't trust is good idea and then is "oh no how it happened i was tricked oh no". Samson at least knew who he was serving.

Calpernia..
The Templar story makes more sense imo.

They both have their moments, I like them for different reasons. I'd have been more than happy to take Calpernia and leave Dorian dead in a ditch.

I thought they were both pretty interesting in their own domains, but I felt storywise Calpernia made for a much more interesting nemesis, one I could relate to. And appreciated you could opt not to fight her.

I found the whole siding with the templars angle that's much favoured on this forum incredibly underwhelming. I think it makes Corypheus seem like a lot less of a threat, the quest-chain IMO is not spread out enough and so it's over too quick, and while the Temple of Dumat is just a great quest from start to finish I don't think it makes up for all the other problems that impact the greater narrative.
That said I actually much prefer Calpurnia to Samson, and really think Bioware should have gone with some other NPC beside "that hobo from DA2".

I like how you try to smear Calpernia by comparing her to Samson.
"Another clueless mage and another templar that knew the acts he was committing were depraved."
You're right, Samson is the much better of the two.

I like how you try to point there is a lot of a lot such templars but in fact nope as most of templars belive they are morally right so you failed.
of course he is better at least he wasn't complete fool it is not that Calpernia was nice girl or even nicer than samson.

Both are underused in my opinion. They are mentioned at some point, but you don't really get anything on them until you get to the Temple of Dumat quest and failing that at the Temple of Mythal (hmm... ToM and ToD).
For people who are supposedly at the forefront of their respective organisation, they are completely out of the picture before you get to them.

Calpernia is cooler, but the Redcliffe quest is so much better than the one for the Templars that I only took Calpernia's route once. Hey, she's probably going to be a companion in DA4, anyway.

Sam. He's an old friend and Calpernia is ugly as sin.

I like samson more since gives a sense of immediate connection to pevious game
I think that was one of main problems with Samson IMO
There was literally no reason to use him other than "he's from the past games"

Well pretty much like most returning characters like for example cullen.

Cullen however fitted more and had more character development, Samson could've been anybody and it would've been the same thing or probably more like Calpernia was
Personally I think we should've saw more faction leaders in the story while Calpernia and (someone else) remain the leaders on the Venatori and Red Templars

Shes more interesting. A slave sympathizing tevinter mage who works with the bad guy only because she believes he can change tevinter.
I made the option to tell her the truth about Cory plans and let her go to rebuild Tevinter. I'm interested on the ramifications that will have.

Cullen had less character than samson in dao but they brought him for fan service reasons cullen could be replaced by pretty much any character that was templar and they brought him back 2 times as well same for leliana when they brought her in da 2 and many other characters. In fact only characters that couldn't be replaced were morrigan and flemeth as that story (as i dislike it) was never resolved.

Same. I prefer Calpernia but I also really like In Hushed Whispers, so idk.

Hardly. I enjoyed it a lot more than the templar quest.

Prefer Calpernia but I like Days of Future Past more, plus Samson isn't all that bad. He has his moment too.
It would be better if Bioware didn't present him as a incompetent junkie back at DA2.
