I dont think the inquisitor herself is needed in questioning, i mean your are the most important person there, you have spies who specialize in torture who can do that, hell your spy master is suppose to do that.

Precious line. We shouldn't interrogate enemy leaders so we focus on digging elfroots and mining ores.

And yet the Inquisition isn't important enough to have have to go around picking flowers and slaughtering fennecs. Cognitive and ludonarrative dissonance, methinks.

The inquisitor does that for her OWN use, it's not for say the entire army, in fact everything you gather you use for your own personal use, and your inner circle (Me personally I don't make armor or weapons for the companions, they can have what i find.), Hell you actual Do make your soldiers, spies and even have your ambassador hire people to gather stuff for you because you ARE THE BOSS! *Z Snap*

The point is that the Inquisitor is important enough to have someone do that for them.

See, my Inquisitor wouldn't want to be the type who lets his people do the shady stuff without his knowledge. Being the kind of leader who decides to remain ignorant of his own group's activities seems too much like shirking personal responsibility.

I find that picking ore and elfroot when I have supposedly hundreds of soldiers, with freaking contracts and treaties (eventually) to Orlais and Ferelden.. Bah

I'd like to question the prisoner myself just so that I can preform a decision before trial. Getting a good idea of the kind of person the person may be. Alexius didn't give a toss when you wanted to execute him. "why couldn't you just kill me.." When I forced him to work for the inquisition.. hah.. I like making my followers dislike my choices. OT but I still want to be the hardcore inquisitor. Someone disagrees with my decision? I rp it as, "YOU CHOSE ME to lead this. You have to deal with my decisions."

again OT, can someone tell me why I didn't have vivienne or cassandra yell at me when I talked with them after Adament Keep? They really hated my decision to forgive the gray wardens. I wanted a chance to defend my decision.

Yeah - after I had a Judgement available, before I took the seat I went down to the cells.  I'd found the cells previously, and wondered if maybe interaction was available with the prisoner to gain more insight into them, or inform my choice, etc.  I was surprised when the cells were empty, even when you had a prisoner awaiting judgement.  Where are they being held before you judge them...?

Total WAG with no inside information to back it up:  this seems like a candidate for content that didn't make it in before the deadline.  I can see Bioware not wanting to simply have a figure standing there you couldn't interact with, that would be more misleading that atmospheric.  There's my prisoner, I'm the Inquisitor, I can't even talk to him?  Any interaction would have required more VA recording, dialogue being written, etc.  So if that was planned, but didn't make it in before release, better to cut the whole thing and not have anyone in there.  It would be very wrong to have a prisoner be scenery you couldn't interact with in any game; so much more so from Bioware.

On a side note I wish that the 2 guards with halberds who stand next to the throne when there's a judgement available would stick around during the scene. Being able to stare damningly down at the prisoner has more oomph when you're flanked by some of your cronies. :P

Had a thought that the underused conversation perks could occasionally be useful in this situation as well really. Although they might be a bit more contrived than the classic persuade/intimidate skills.

Because it's not the Inquisition it's the Pinkquisition!

It's pretty and nice and politically correct! It's The song and dance number from History of the World Part 1 with Mel Brooks in it!

What prisoners? There are no prisoners, just ask your prison guard.

We do question them. Denam gets questioned and thrown in a cell. That guy at the temple of Dumat can be questioned, willing or unwilling. Servis can be made an agent. You can also throw Ruth in a cell and find her there. That's all I have so far.

Are you implying that those things don't happen in the game and that I hallucinated them while tripping on LSD? Because at best you're only half right.

They should've got Cole to interrogate them:

Then again, some interrogation is implied (e.g. someone must've asked why that chieftain was lobbing goats at the walls) or not much use (the box in one of the endings of Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts).
