The theme for this month's challenge: "Remakes, Repairs & Reboots":

Remakes, Repairs & Reboots: Take any item you like and remake it, fix it, or create improvements/variations/evolutions/reskins. Content could be from vanilla, SoU, HotU, 1.69 or any other NWN or NWN2 addon, supplement, or custom content, as well as from other 2D/3D RPG games, such as Ultima, Wizardry, Might and Magic, Final Fantasy and similar series.

This theme was suggested by Carcerian.

Guidelines:

  •

  • It must be fully working in game.

  • Use of vanilla NWN or publicly available texture is fine.  Just remember that NWN textures must have dimensions in powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.).

  • Teamwork is welcome.

  • Beginners most welcome. Don't be afraid, just try, you'll be surprised!

  • "Custom Content" includes many sorts of things: models, scripts, prefabs (areas, items, creatures, conversations, quests, etc.), sounds, portraits, or anything else new for the game.

  • All submissions must be finished, working, and emailed to NWNCCCMakers@gmail.com (or a non-Vault link provided) by March 1st, 2015. Sooner than that is perfectly fine too. ;-)

Somethings you could include in the download/email that would make packaging everything up easier and faster:

  •

  • 2da lines needed.

  • Screenshot from in game for use on the vault page (this also gives me hints on how to display the new goodie). Formats: .bmp, .jpg, .png, or .tga

  • Portraits (if needed) of your new goodie. Placeables and monsters should include a portrait.

  • Any credits you would like listed.

  • If this is your first entry, please tell me what name you would like your work listed under and provide a link to your other NWN content if you want that displayed as well (the link bit is totally optional).

  • Also if you would like an invite to the CC Makers group, send Rolo Kipp a friend invite. The group is nothing spectacular, mostly just documentation on 2da lines.

Remember, the Challenge is all about fun, sharing, creativity, and surprise!

This thread is for all sorts of discussion about this month's theme: ideas for things to make, questions/concerns, announcement of what you intend to make, screenshots of work in progress and/or finished projects.

If you want to discuss the Monthly Custom Content Challenge idea as a whole or wish to submit ideas/themes for future monthly Challenges, please post in its thread here

When submitting a new theme, please provide a title and short summary of the theme.

If you have a technical question about some custom content creation, please create a separate thread so that the answers can be found later by anyone, not just people interested in this Challenge.

We'll try to help!

Have no fear and join the fun!

And finally, you can:

Submit theme suggestions.
Vote for March's theme.
Email content to: NWNCCCMakers@gmail.com

Aren't you annoying that if you play with a dwarf, you have to take the "exotic weapon proficiency" if you wish to use the dwarven waraxe???

I had to edit 3 different 2da files. But I have created a new racial feat, which is applied to any new dwarf character when it's created. This feat gives competence to any dwarf with the dwarven waraxe, no matter what class they have.

Racial%20Weapon%20Proficiency%20Dwarven%

The feat works like "elven weapon proficiency" in elves. It only gives competence with the dwarven waraxe, not other exotic weapons. You have to create a new character to obtain this feat, in combination with the new files of course.

Racial%20Weapon%20Proficiency%20Dwarven%

I have chosen the same entries, from the TLK file, than the name and description of the weapon uses....

-

Also I have created a similar feat for half-orcs, which give them competence with the orc double axe.

Racial%20Weapon%20Proficiency%20Orc%2001

Maybe this could make the poor half-orcs a little more interesting for players. Because 3rd edition rules hadn't being too balance with them, you win 2 points in strength, but you loses 4 in others , 2 in intelligence and 2 in charisma...

Racial%20Weapon%20Proficiency%20Orc%2002

Shemsu-Heru, this is not correct solution per rules. Rules are saying that a dwarf can handle dwarven waraxe as a martial weapon instead of exotic. I was also using this approach in past but then I realized that it makes no sense that a wizard dwarf who can't use normal axe can use dwarven waraxe. Problem is, to do that this way requires a lot of modifications not just few collumn changes...

You are right; However I don't know any way to make the dwarven waraxe martial only for dwarfs and exotic for the rest. So considering the circumstances I think that this is the best solution, even when it's not the ideal.

Also in NWN2 it works in the same way; Any dwarf character are able to use the dwarven waraxe even if they don't have the competency with martial, or exotic weapons....

Indeed. The way I did it was custom weapon feats for dwarven waraxe with different prerequisities and then I added a normal feat as bonus on skin in OnLevelUp.

Shemsu-Heru - what's that GUI skin you're using. I like it and wouldn't mind getting my hands on it.

I keep checking the recent uploads of stuff from the old vault to the new. One item from 2003 that caught my imagination, if not my eyes, were the Goatmen.

Here is something that is surely due for a remake as compared to what people make today these look very primitive.

It's called "BG2 Themed GUI" I had found it, long time ago, in the old vault. I don't Know if it's available in the new one. It changes the default NWN interface textures with others based on those in the Baldur's Gate 2 interface.

So I think that maybe a new replacement skin(s) for NwN's gui must come under this month's theme if anyone's interested.

As for the dwarven waraxe you do not need to make a new feat, you can just add stonecunning(already a dwarf only feat that given on creation) in baseitems.2da in collum ReqFeat1. Those are OR Required feats not ands.

As for BG2 Themed GUI  I did some updates to it and added tranpancy backgrounds in a lot of the boxes for a cleaner look when you have the windows up.

Succubus_override.jpg

I never have been too happy, with the NWN succubus. They are supposed to be so gorgeous demonesses, that mortals are almost unable to resist their charms (assuming that one wishes to resist).

Well I don't Know about you but for me a "woman" with bird feet and monstrous hands, don't seems too much attractive. So I have replaced the NWN succubus with the NWN2 version. Also I have modified the "appearance" file, to allow succubus to have tails in addition to the wings...

NWN Uthgardts don't fit exactly with the idea that I have of a fantasy barbarian. That bald heads with ponytails, could work well for oriental barbarians, like Tartars; But I don't think that it would work well with western barbarians.

Uthgard%20Elk%20Tribesmen_override.jpg

Uthgard%20Tiger%20Tribesmen_override.jpg

So I have replaced the OC Uthgardts with new models made from Ribsmasher from NWN2...

Uthgard%20Totems.jpg

Notice that their respective tribal totems have been added to the textures.

Gypsy%20Rogue%20override.jpg

Gypsy%20Female%20override.jpg

This models remplace the human female 04 and 09 creatures Which appear as gypsy rogue and gypsy female, respectively, in the aurora tool set. The have been made from free models at http://tf3dm.com:

http://tf3dm.com/3d-...elle-69926.html

http://tf3dm.com/3d-...niel-98000.html

Both models are from the game "Age of pirates". So I assume that the should be pirate women, however I think that they could work as gypsies too; Also they could be great bards or Spanish female adventurers...

Gypsy%20ladies%20fencing.jpg

In addition I have made an alternative versions of both characters; Which fencing animations from : Alternate Combat Animations Pack (ACP v4.0) by Ragnarok_mr4:

http://neverwinterva...ns-pack-acp-v40

Just because I think that this fighting style fits well with they...

:)   Those gypsies and barbarians are great.  Glad I clicked on this today so I could look at them.

I've always liked the NWN succubus though.  Of the original  models it was one of the better ones.

Those gypsy models are fantastic!  Does anyone else think the succubus head looks freaky though?  The hands and feet are an improvement, but that facial expression--yikes.  It says run away, instead of come hither.  I know it was an import, and now I'm wondering at the other humanoid heads in NWN2--I've never played it.  Are the others that...ah...scary looking?

What I've always stood by is there needs to be a succubus which is what they actually look like, and then one they turn into, seeing as succubi are up there with dopplegangers in terms of being shapeshifters

Maybe she could looks scared; I haven't realized of that until you said that. NWN2 is a great game too; head models in NWN2 are more complex than they are in NWN, They can have some facial expressions, like opening and closing eyes and mouths, so they could seem in different moods.....

That could be a good model, but don't fits with the idea that I have of a succubus...

I think that the shape-changing abilities of the succubus, are limited to humanoid beautiful females....

Succubus = female

Incubus = male

Yes, they are limited to shape changing into forms of the same gender. However, there is some lore that states a succubus/incubus takes on the form of whatever man/woman its victim desires. Hence, when in a male form, the demon is called an incubus and when in a female form, a succubus.

Great work Shemsu! I'm not sure why you wait around for the monthly CCC to update the default Bioware NPCs, just do them all already :)

And look who showed up! Ssythilac! Whoa! Good to know you're still around.

Where is our Myth Drannor module already? :P

FP!

Because I have been busy doing stuff for others challenges. And a CCC is a good motivation for doing some of the ideas that have been crossing my mind...

Leprechaun.jpg

The CCP have already some leprechauns, but they are quite basic. There is a model of the mad hatter from "DC Universe Online" at http://tf3dm.com. Which I always have thought that could be a great leprechaun with few modifications; so I have done that....
