Hiya!

hehe, yes, I`m still around, always lurking in the shadows...

The Myth Drannor module of mine (named officially now "The Legacy of Cormanthyr") is still in progress but nearly finished. Through the years the module became bigger and bigger (much more than I thinked in the first time), and I still need to create a bunch of areas and quests (some of them featuring the new and gorgeus elven treetop city created by Estelindis). Maybe I could finish all of these things this year, but who knows... Today I`m veery busy trying to obtain my damned Ph.d in the university.

Anyway, thanks for the interest FP! :)

Fantastic work on remaking the CCP leprechaun, Shemsu!

Man the CCP has so much stuff that could use a makeover: the hippotamus, giraffe, mastodon, woolly mammoth, woolly rhino, roper, morkoth, giant frog, axebeak, bactrian (two-hump) camel, baluchitherium, barracuda, beaver, catoblepas, couatl, the crocodiles, the dinosaurs, the eels, giant gar, the turtles (land and sea), the nagas, the otyughs... well, you get the idea. :P

Are those tilesets custom to your module or could you release them early for community dabbling?  :)

Woolly mammoth update is in the CEP (thanks to a model found in Project Q), but yeah, all those early critter models could use the attention of folks here. If we could get finished animations for baba_yaga's superb giant frog, that would be awesome. Updated crocodiles would be at the top of my wish list. :)

Hmm, I was gonna try touching up the Spyder Fiends, AKA the D&D creatures with the worst names ever, from the CEP (Since, y'know, they should have wolf heads and also making mine different enough you could use all of them as horrible spider monsters), but the Morkoth could be fun

Plus, hey, Bogleech article on 'em. 2E design looks great

Funny thing about those models, many of which were made by Hydromancer X: Most of them were rejected a couple of times by CEP because they were just too rough-looking.  Years later, when CCP was shuttering its doors the deal was CEP could get the content but it had to be an all-or-nothing affair as far as inclusion of content was concered and CEP seems to have mostly stuck by that.  But the funny twist is that while Hydromancer X wasn't a great modeler in a conventional sense, he did great bone work and, along with the animations either made by him or the rest of the CCP, those models would make sweet pickins for a skinmesh upgrade.  Pulling a giraffe or a brontosaurus skeleton or whatever out of a deer model, for instance, with deer animations is quite difficult.

Yeah, most of the stuff with new animations was made by ATOM, while most of the things reusing old animations were originally by Hydromancer (I know the Axebeak/Diatryma got redone 3 times in that pack, but hey, I still love how it used the deer model)

Speaking of, I'm pretty sure the CCP grabbed most of those from a big massive compilation hak Hydromancer did once. The issue, of course, is that a lot of the stuff in it was outdated.

(also please reanimate/fix the kangaroo pack cause as an Australian I am allowed to request such)

ShadowM any chance for baba Yaga Carrion Crawler animation fix ?

I did not know it had problems(have not really looked at it) I like first edition look. I made my own carrion crawler that in project Q /my insect pack that needs to be totally redone. So I probably do that before and I still need to work on the otyugh. If it minor then I could do some work on it sooner.

The main problem I have with that giraffe is that

1. it doesn't really look like a giraffe. Giraffes tend to keep their necks at a 45-degree angle (or thereabouts), whereas the CCP giraffe, being a stretched out deer, has a neck that just stands straight upwards.

and 2. it doesn't move the way a giraffe does, neither walking/running nor attacking. Giraffes, on the rare occasion that they fight something, deliver powerful kicks with their legs. The CCP giraffe just uses the deer attack animation of headbutting, which looks weird with the super long neck and no antlers. It basically head-butts the air above whatever it's attacking.

Actually male giraffes do fight each other for dominance as can be seen in this sequence from the BBC. Being antelope they have also been known, on rare occasions, to charge with their heads down at whatever is annoying them. In fact there is a brass plaque in a UK zoo with an indentation made in such an attack.

I can't watch that video in the US. Anyway, they may headbutt each other or another large animal, but they usually kick at smaller creatures like a lion (or a PC :P)

Here's some video of a giraffe fighting lions for reference: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=GnAYppM01Kk

Try a proxy server - I hear that usually works. In the video they are fighting with their necks. Also the dent in the wall that I mentioned was caused when a giraffe charged a keeper inside the giraffe house. So they do both charge and kick.

Twas the last FPS I played before I decided severe motion sickness wasn't my cup of tea.  I was always a RP gamer anyway.  Now I can get vertigo just by turning my head sometimes.  What a drag it is getting old.

I have that too; it was caused by some sort of viral infection. On the plus side, I don't have to pay for my rollercoaster rides...  :o

Awesome...

My congratulations  :D

But I have a question for Shemsu-Heru, can the New models of Succubus, Utgards and Gypsies, ride a horse, wear a cloak, set a tail/wing, Head aligned VFX complements like horns or masks?

Thanks.

Succubus can have tails and wings, but not the others I haven't set in they nodes for that, I haven't considered it necessary with those characters.

Cloaks only are shown with dynamic-playable races (Humans, dwarves, elves, etc).

They can't ride. However, any of those models include animations, all use supermodels for that, so riding versions could be made if you change the supermodel reference.

Head aligned VFX. maybe, I haven't tried that, I don't know too much about VFX. However they have human scale, so VFX for humans probably work with them...

Please, correct me if I'm wrong
I assume, is not posible to do dynamical appearences of this quality.
For that, I propose to do a face and hair less versions of those models. To put on it a head aligned VFX with custom faces, hairs and ears by script.
And do the supermodel thing you was mentioned.

In the future, others custom content makers, can do, with your permision, texture alterations to make armor and clothes variations.

Thanks.

@Rumata:

I'm not sure of what do you men with "dynamical appearances of this quality". However about VFX, I think that they can be applied to non dynamic creatures, but as I have said I don't know to much about VFX.

I'm sorry but I don't have plans for doing dynamic heads or riding versions with those models.

I don't know, if this is wanted for this CCC, but while preparing a HAK for a project, I stumbled upon an graphical issue with the 2x2 Lodge in the Bioware Forest Tileset: TTF01_T11_01.mdl + TTF01_T12_01.mdl

nwn1_f10.jpg

I fixed the windows texture and straightened the wooden planks (also on the back = not visible in the screenshots).

Tell me, if it should be included.

OneBlackRider - very worthwhile improvement I think. I still use that lodge group and if the fix is included I will use it.
