I don't know if that's any help to you, but all I can say is that I didn't enjoy it a lot at first, either.
However, by now I love it and clocked way too many hours into it.
It's curiously the exact same thing I experienced with Mass Effect 1 back then.
P.S.: Also, can we drop the "money back" thing for a game not living up to expectations? Bugs I understand, but gameplay features being appalling is in no way entitling anybody to get their money back.

There are aspects to the game that can become tedious, like the bottle collections. Or the shards. If so, just ignore them. The Hinterlands can seem to drag after a while but once you move on to other areas it does get better. I've never got the hang of the tactical camera so I just don't bother with it and have reverted to the time old hit the pause button to check where the enemies are and who I want to hit first. There are some areas where you will find it useful to have the horse or you will think you are running for ever. It is the first Dragon Age that I haven't enjoyed playing a dual wielding rogue because that did seem clunky but by contrast archer, which I have tended to ignore on previous games, was really enjoyable. This is the first game that I have bothered with crafting my own equipment and it is worth it to my mind, particularly after you have killed off a few of the higher level critters so have better materials to work with.
Bottom line, though, if you are judging it merely on the Hinterlands then you are not doing the game justice. You've only scratched the surface thus far. It is also a role playing game, so talk to people and immerse yourself in the character you have created, playing them accordingly. Recruit everyone you are offered as a companion. Even if it turns out you don't like them you can still talk with them. To my mind the positives of this game far outweigh the negatives.

I hate so many things about this game, i can't even list them all BUT at the same time I am having a great time with it, try to remember it is impossible for a company to please all of the people all of the time.
Truly having a blast with options, rogue with immolate, warrior with hidden blades, the list goes on
Give it another shot, you might be surprised (rogue with grappling hook makes me smile every time i use it)

Big Snip

But I heard people talking well of it, it couldn't be just viral marketing.
So please, please tell me that it gets better. If things keep being like that even my desire to discover who's the antagonist won't keep me on the title.

LOL!.. I agree.
I believe Bio has a cunning plan and that is selling you a DLC to possibly , maybe, perhaps, we will see, we are hopefull to meet your expectations.

For me, it does get better; second campaign is even better than the first.
How so?

I am simply having a blast playing DAI. I am sorry for those who are not having fun, but IMHO it is money well spent. As always YMMV.

Glad to hear your happy with the awkward PC game controls....

One Bio apologist that keeps posting goody gushing love said that these appalling features are Perks.

I hope for future games, boring content is just cut.
Also to the person who said that if they don't like a book they put it down - that isn't really comparable. Most books aren't $70. You usually don't anticipate spending 100 hours with one book. At best, you would have to compare this to a 3rd book in a series that you previously enjoyed. Even then this doesn't really work. Some people have spent 300 to 500 hours of their lives on prior Dragon Age products only to end up here where people yell at them for not enjoying the game and telling them it's their own fault for not skipping bad content.

So many people posting on the forums of a game they supposedly hate. I just don't understand that, if I hate a game I just stop playing it and never once read anything about it or ever go back to the game's forums. Maybe I'm just weird.
I think it's just players who are hoping to see if their experiences were similar, and to maybe weigh the pros and cons of potential changes that can be made to the betterment of a series.
Now the people who come online just to say "Hey I disliked it. Never buying anything of yours again Bioware!"....I sort of just assume they're venting major rage/disappointment, but otherwise yeah, I'm not sure what their end goal is ![]()

Hey we all experienced it differently
I've enjoyed my 2.5 DAI runs, and it's actually encouraged me to go back and read the books/play the first two games in chronological order leading up to Inquisition. Does Inquisition have issues? Absolutely. Every DA game (for me, anyhow) is going to have something I'm less than enamored with, but I think so long as they keep trying to improve, I'll be keeping an eye on the series, just to see what else they come up with.
It may be optimistic of me, but I'm really hoping that since they've (hopefully) by now gotten the FB engine under control, and seen how people react when they design maps on two different ends of a scale (tiny maps in the first two games, giant ones in the third), they can find a better balance.

(to SebastianDA) That might depend on where you live and what kind of book it is because where I live, I've seen books that can come close to that price in stores but that may just be locally that happens.

Yes, your are weird (and haven't read the OP).
Dear Lord. What´s the problem?
There are so many people coming here to complain that they cannot enjoy the game.
If I don´t like a book I put it aside. I don´t go to the bookshop to complain, or write the author that I don´t like it.
Sometimes BSN seems to be a kind of Sigmund Freud: I don´t like DAI. What is wrong with me, Doctor?
So books don't get any reviews? Really? OK, I didn't know that.
Anyway, this is a game not a book, and it shall be treated as such. You like the game for some reason, I get it. But is it possible, that the reason they were able to make a game you like is that Bioware received some feedback regarding their previous games?

So that's DA:I. I'm fked. I can't endure that for 100 hours. And I can't have my 50€ back cause microsoft DD. Damn. i should have looked around for informations, but I thought they would have spoiled the game, so I just listened to the "it's good" here and there. And I believed them like an idiot.
Anyway, this is the third time bioware disappointed me. I'm out.
Just a suggestion: Try to get past the combat. It's truly awful, but with some adaption and tricks it can be made to run almost automatically, thus not annoying you so much.
Experiment yourself, but my suggestion is to lower difficulty to at least normal, and control a ranged character during combat (just press R).
Once that is out of the way, you might discover you can enjoy the rest of the game. Crafting is actually not so bad it seems at first.
