I think it would be interesting if they added the ability to play as one of the opposing factions. I'd love to play as a Spellbinder...hell even a Venatori Archer :P  That however would require adding the Inquisition as an enemy and adding the ability to choose which faction to fight. I'm not getting my hopes up lol.

Arishok. Someone's got to dual-wield 2H'ers.

There's an official thread for any great ideas you can come up with. We'd love to hear them.

The lack of cross-classing in the game limits design options. Personally, I'd like to see an ex-Venatori character who wields only a one-handed weapon, with mobility skills; sort of between Arcane Warrior and Assassin, skill-wise, but a Warrior class with limited Guard-gaining passives. It bugs me that one-handed weapons don't have a purely offensive application, is all.

An evil mode with enemy faction characters and good-aligned enemies would be interesting, as mentioned by daravin. But to make something like that plot-friendly, so as not to have Inquisition characters killing Inquisition members, they'd have to rework too much to make it viable. So yeah, ex-members of enemy factions, please.

A duelist rogue/warrior hybrid built around counter attacking.

Abilities include a blocking stance that deflects arrows back at archers, the rogue counter attack, and a unique passive that boosts the strength of counter attacks.

The class would be stealthless, but will have access to all the 'good' passive very early, such as armor pen, damage up after a kill and damage up against lone targets. Other active abilities include combat roll, flank attack, Mark of Death, To the Death, Hook and Tackle, that hookshot thing warriors have, and that rogue thing with the Lantern.

Darkspawn!

Spoiler

If we're discussing playing as conventionally enemy factions, I vote repeatedly for Saarebas (Qunari mage). Two-shot AoEing Hawke's entire party on Nightmare should translate well to Perilous, yeah? Also, as we have access to the Katari already, it wouldn't be completely lore-breaking to recruit some Tal Vashoth-y Saarebas.

Id like a spirit healer, and a proper Tempest that uses flasks and some assassin skills.

For example, flask of fire plus hidden blades :)

I adore Luka, but Kihm and the Tempests sound like total bad*ss.

Id like to see flask of lightning added to a kit, however unsure of how it would work in MP....

For better or for worse, not having actual healers was a conscious design decision for DA:I. I don't foresee them adding something in that breaks their design philosophy for the game.

That would be second only to the Fire Flask + Thousand Cuts exploit/abuse in the single player. Doesn't seem like a good idea.

The way i envision Spirit Healer is having access to barrier, dispel, rejuvenate, and resurgence with a rather long cool down.
Hopefully in the future, we will have Dragons as bosses.

As for the Flask of fire and hidden blades ability, i thought it was a decent idea. Its not going to be as OP as the thousand cuts combo, but enables players who do enjoy it a similar combo for MP, without being too OP.

i think a red templar tank/support based character would be cool, they could have that empower move and give one or all of their allies red lyrium armour, i think it would be awesome, also imagine if you could play corypheus (apologize if i spelt his name wrong) that would be cool.

A Mabari tank. With armor. It'd have Bull Charge, War Cry (War Bark?), Bodyguard and some attack that'd let it knock down and tear into enemies.

Edit: I'm actually serious about this.

Yes please a Blood mage. It's been in every Dragon Age but Inquisition and I miss it. Lore wise you could just say they're from the Tevinter Imperium like Dorian, and similar to Dorian he/she wants to help the Inquisition close the breach. More Qunari, definatly a Saarabas.

Arcane Kill ******. Functions pretty much like AW, with the exception of a permanent fall back plan anchored 10 metres behind the last player in the group. If AKW rushes forward more than 5 metres from the player furthest forward, any other player in the match has the option to activate FBP and ping the AKW back to the anchor. This would have the effect of smacking AKW onto their asses and instantly delevelling them to level 1.

Edit: on console, the AKW's controller would not so much vibrate as deliver sustained electrical shocks until the player learns to play as a team. On PC, it would automatically download animal p0rn and email it to the nearest police station.

A Grey Warden 2H warrior, except I really only want them for the sake of a dude in cool Warden armor. If I'm honest, all skill ideas I come up with would make them essentially a 2H mix of Templar & Reaver, though :/

A Grey Warden force mage. I really liked DLC/endgame Bethany.

Arcane Trapper: Lots of glyphs and wards. All about area denial and cc, with oldies like Glyph of Paralysis and new ones like Searing Ward( a mine spell that when triggered explodes releasing several small clusters of fire).
