I never knew about this whole keep story. I didn't even know it existed until...
My boyfriend heard me nagging for weeks about how unfair life is because I can't buy myself the game. He got crowned best boyfriend in the entire world when he came home with DA:I right after it released. After about an hour of jumping around and all that stuff, I installed the game. Imagine the disappointment and horror I felt when I couldn't import my saves into DA:I. That's when I learned about the keep. And boy was I pissed.
After practically sitting for 4 hours trying to import my DA:O and DA2 charcaters, I eventually gave up, went to bed and swore revenge on Bioware. I woke up the next morning, went (with a heavy heart if I might add, on both accounts) to a funeral and forgot my laptop in someone's car. I had to wait 6 hours to get it. Searched my head off on how to do the imports and got nothing.
The next morning (3 days with the game and I still couldn't play), I found this thread, got the answer I was looking for and viola, characters ala in-keep.
I though this whole keep story was Bioware's way of punishing people like me who had a crappy internet connection and overly safe passwords, but in the end, I praise Bioware for the amazing keep. Although I love playing the Dragon Age series over and over and over again, I hate having to go back the whole time to change certain chioces. Now, I just log in and change a few things here and there and just import it. Easy as that.
So even if someone in Bioware never reads this, I just have to say thanks. You guys screw some things up like hell (do I need to say what?
), but you always pull through in the end. And trust me, even if we all sound like whiney two year olds, it is probably because deep down we are, but we really do appreciate all the stuff you do for us to make our gaming experience out of this world amazing.
