Liking the game so far, but combat on PC with KB and mouse feels, well, horrible.

Camera is awkward, especially painful when I like the locations / atmosphere.

I tried hooking up my ps3 controller to my PC but had some issues.

Are people typically playing this with a controller? Game runs great and looks great but the controls are killing it for me. Im fighting the controls more than my enemies :D!

The "tactical" view seems especially awkward, which I thought was going to be awesome on PC.

Any suggestions on key rebinding or should I just figure a way to get my PS3 controller hooked up?

Controller

This game was meant to be played with a controller and we were fools for believing what Bioware said about being a game made by pc gamers for pc gamers

Learn the key bindings, use the mouse wheel for zoom, use auto run if going any distance on foot, use A or D for more precise rotation than the mouse.

I know I'll probably get flamed but, as a long time KB+M player of ANY game, I think the PC controls are 90% L2P and 10% functionality that does need fixed.

I re-set my Keys to WASD and QE for movement and strafing both for Action mode and Tac-Cam, and activated the Tac-Cam settings in Gameplay options. Others may have a preference for arrow keys for movement; whatever is more familiar to the Player is recommended.

Ok thanks for the feed back, im gonna just re bind for now.

Any suggestions for PS3 controller drivers? I tried to different times, once with a motionjoy type driver and an alternative driver but wasn't able to get it to recognize the controller. I followed some youtbe tutorial vids but was still having problems.

Uggg I read and watched the reviews that kinda slammed the PC control scheme, but I didn't listen cause I am a huge DAO fan and wanted to play. Ill probably be able to get used to it, just disappointed.

Personally have 530+ hrs on a basic KB&M set-up with very little trouble; utilizing Pause and Tac-Cam mostly. A lot of frustration was avoided simply by re-mapping the Options and Keys before play, and some practice with the Tac-Cam in the tutorial areas.

It's not so much l2p, more a case of getting used to it. When I first started, I had a LOT of issues. I even googled "dragon age inquisition pc controls suck" to vent my fury and see if others had similar problems. After a while, I realised that I needed to stop trying to play it like Origins, because the tac cam can't go over rocks or walls because.... er... I have no idea why, and I needed to stop trying to play it like DA2 because it is a very different game. Trust me, you'll get very used to it. It's not ideal, but getting the key bindings sorted (eg setting a and d to move the tac cam left and right instead of turning) makes it a bit easier.

That said, I'm really hoping they'll give us more than 8 abilities, and let us use mouse binding.
