That listening to IGN is a waste of my time.

Loved ME1, story, characters, ending and Mako.  :)  Enjoyed ME2, especially playing so that I had different survivors at the end but it was the start of losing control of my Shepard and I liked ME3 with the ending mod but the Shepard in ME3 was not the one I started with.  I liked the NPC characters in all 3 games and enjoyed the dialogue.  Could have reduced the number of cinematic cut scenes in 3 and added more conversations with Shepard, but it was fun (with the ending mod).

While I probably won't pre-order ME4, will depend on what I hear about it, and if I don't pre-order it,  if I hear good things about it from people I know, I'll pick it up after it's out.   I have no idea how or if DAI will effect ME4.  But having a new character will help.  Until they can keep the essence of a character through 3 games, I would rather have a new one each time.

DAI had everything I enjoyed in all of the other BioWare games.  Story, Characters, romances and an ending I didn't hate.  A game I can replay for years to come. Hoping ME4 works out that way too.

Agree.

I used to look at game ratings and read the reviewers.  But then decided they were like movie reviewers and if they hated it I might like it, but for the most part, things they were interested had no appeal to me.  I enjoy Borderlands and Skyrim, tried Assassin's Creed and didn't enjoy it.Fable made me laugh and I'll pull it out once in awhile.  Have absolutely no interest in the Witcher series.  Reviewers don't work for me.

I gave up on reviewers and go with people I know.

With the announcement of the Mako and using the same engine, my fear is that it will be more "exploration" fetch quests.

Please.  Bioware.  Do not do this.  The Mako is the WORST part of Mass Effect.  I don't want to explore planets with no content, fetch quests, and little superfluous codex entries.  Please don't do this Mass Effect.  In my opinion, it's the part of DA:I that I hate.  I want story.  Mass Effect is story.  Please don't DA:I it.

What does inquisition's success mean for mass effect?

Mass Effect has its own damn problems to sort. Inquisition's success just means they got more time to do it without Bioware declaring bankruptcy.

I'm actually looking forward to the return of the mako.
conceptually the Mako was fine. Execution was lacking.
I want a universe to discover, but something interesting to be found, not another rock collecting sim. So if ME4 could be more than a pretty tech demo, that'd be awesome.

I really don't see how the Dragon Age Inquisition success COULD impact the design of ME4. The combat? If anything their influence will be from ME3, which was reviewed favorably in that respect. I don't see what they could learn there. Open World Exploration? That was already in the plan as far as we know. Maybe they can learn what sort of quests not to oversaturate the game world with.

I guess the success might mean the Montreal team will be given more time if they ask for it, since that seems to have worked out well for Inquisition. So that's good.

Honestly I listened to about half of the vid the OP posted and as Dorian said in DA:I "i felt dumber for having tried."

As for ordering it (pre-order or not) if it's on a console that I have either a PS4 or Xbox One (I will really be surprised if BW does another game on 5 platforms I just don't see that happening after this year) then I'll buy the next ME game because I have yet to play a BioWare that I didn't like. Unless it's an MMO I won't play an MMO.

They already said that they are dropping PS360 for the next ME game.

I haven't played Mass Effect at all. I don't have the time to get into it.

Based on what I've seen online, I'm not interested in fighting a space war that involves alien races. We're already getting a new Star Wars film to enjoy.

Personally I'd rather see try something that's similar to the Honor Harrington novels, or Gundam, where it's just humanity warring against itself in outer space.

That sounds boring as hell.

Andreas, you are missing hell a lot. ME series are much better than DA. More compelling, more emotional and just more fun. And the ending? It got fixed. I am so angry to see people constantly discrediting ME3, otherwise a perfect game, for a no-happy ending, which for the first time in the gaming history, got amended. I hope that some day people see that up till now there was no bigger work of art in the industry than ME.

I'm laughing so hard that my chest hurts.

Its not Mako's fault that side planets in ME were boring. If they breath life to planets in ME4, exploring them on vehicle would be awesome

But it is the Mako's fault it handled a potato with wheels. The Mako didn't just suck because of the terrible design of the worlds. It sucked because it sucked to drive it.

me1 was the only one that had it

bash the mako all you want

atleast the universe felt BIG

And empty.

If we can get the world design in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 in the fourth game, but expand upon it so the Mako is usable to get to places, id say it's a win win. Then all they need to do is fix the Mako controls....

What is wrong with Frostbite 3?

ME1 used Unreal and had the same problems with filler and empty areas. It's a design decision of how large to create these maps and what kind of content to fill them with.

I dunno. On PS3 it wasn't that bad, and I got the hand of it pretty quickly. I've read here and there that PC players had the worst of it, and maybe XBox.

Seems we will be getting Liara again then :P

Cause you know...Leliana got in all three parts so if ME4 shall copy Inquisition then seems they will bring their favorite pet back as well also they will add more of their pets because Inquisition was full of writer's pets.

It also sucked that fighting in the MAKO was basically required on all the story missions. It was also a crappy handling stupid way to explore a planet.

After Mass Effect 3 i don't really care for a Mass Effect 4...

That whole franchise degraded after ME 1

Yep its just like a giant hall way with cutscenes added in..

me1 was the only one that had it

I'm completely in agreement.

DAI's 'success' means nothing for ME4 apart from the fact that EA is happy with all the moolah so if ME4 screws up in the returns dept (very unlikely) BW will still probably get another lease at life.

As far as IGN videos are concerned, I kind of lost faith in that website ever since their re-turd Colin Moriarity decided to support the original ME3 ending and call the fans who put together the charity drive 'entitled'. That guy's one big f**ktard.

DA:I gets the crown for worst variety of hair styles across the two franchises. The ME franchise may not have been Coiffure Xanadu, but it was certainly better at giving you options than Inquisition, with everyone being so...aerodynamic.

I hope it means EA gives Bioware more time/money to release a great ME:4. Not the rushed debacle that became the end of ME3.

Just don't make me, or even give me the choice to collect flowers or find cattle please.

Stupidly, I'd troll around in the mako for hours searching for whatever, just on the off chance to hear the rachni or uncover a devious cerberus plot
