So i just made it to the battle before the final boss...

I mean that part where you have to go look for 3 lieutenantsand the lyrium stuff so then you can fight some waves of red templars...

Is this game really expecting me to go through all this with only 8 health potions?

Everything up to here was a piece of cake and suddenly it's the hardest thing ever... am i gonna have to go back the 1 or 2 hours i wasted in this mission so i can lvl up more before doing it?

i can't seem to leave this stupid castle to resupply or anything...

I mean i have all my party in the minimum hp, 0 potions... seiourly i don't understand what i did wrong... i barely used all of the potions i had right before getting to the Lord Seeker, i got the resupply inside the cathedral and then i lost everything going for the stupid lieutenants...

I need serious advice on how to go through missions as long as this one, please!

Thanks!

*Slight spoilers follow*

IIRC there's another set of potions up the stairs before the final boss fight, so don't worry about running out. I'd recommend going back to a save right after you escape your own mind or wherever the hell that is. Try to conserve potions as much as possible while searching for the lieutenants by doing one objective eg grabbing the lyrium but not the lieutenant, but doing it really carefully and slowly. Then you can run back to the main hall to reset the timer, and carefully do the next objective In the same area. As a warning, don't let the timer get below about 1/3, I don't want to include too many spoilers (typing this from my phone), but it can make things sad.

For me, it was important to save potions for the final battle in the hall before the boss, which I found harder than the boss himself. I burned through 7 potions in that one, mainly on my companions. Then i headed up the stairs and refilled like a thirsty alcoholic. By comparison, just 2 potions used on the boss, both by Cass.

There are ways of doing the boss without any potions needed (as long as you have charging bull/combat roll or evade).

The part JUST before the boss however (where you get swarmed by red templars), THAT is insanity.

My fight against Envy was ridiculous haha, i had like 4 pots at the start and at some point when i was out of them i was like using the tactical view all the time to be reviving fallen party members and attacking the demon haha, it was so painful and stupid...

It depends on the last go around I had varric sera vivienne. I charged in warcry and just held shield wall while the rouges rained down hate and malcontent when vive gave me a barrier I auto attacked and then repeat.

The easiest thing for this demon is:

take 3 ranged fighters (be they mage or rogue, no matter) and one CQC fighter. Doesn't matter if the CQC'er has taunt or not, what matters is that he has either evade, combat roll, fade step, or even charging bull.

Place and hold position your 3 rangeds at one side of the field, BEHIND THE PILLARS.

Have your CQC stay in the centre of the arena (don't stray outside the pillars) and attack or taunt the demon. Now, the demon should only do his ground attack thing on the one enemy. Since you have evade/ combat roll/whatever, this is easily dodgeable. So basically, just benny hill the demon commander while the others range him to death.

The second part where the templars come is a bit touch and go, but cole should distract the DC long enough for you to kill all enemies.
