Just imagine they do it with a funny voice.
heh...okay, that actually made the OP palatable when I did that. I used Peter Seller's voice as Inspector Clouseau.
I'm surprised that I found myself so defensive about the community. Fortunately I think the responses support my conclusion that this community is many things, "disenchanted and despondent" isn't one of them.

I ain't even mad.jpg. I think I've more than gotten my money's worth from both single and multiplayer. And I hope that the devs take all the snark and criticism as tough love rather than straight up hate for the game.

You lucky bastard.[/quot
If this is the most despondent fanbase you've ever seen then I think it's safe to say that you're not a fan Mechwarrior, Tribes, or Command and Conquer.
You lucky bastard.
Yeah, Microsoft should burn in hell for what they've done to Mechwarrior.

Come on now MWO is decent if limited.
That fan base would eat the worst this one can produce alive and never even notice it happened though. I think there are unbanned people who have unironically called for the combat balance lead's head on pike.

I just wish people would stop posting as if they were speaking for the whole damn community. It's annoying.
DA:I campaign and MP? I ain't even mad. Big game, big problems. Sh*t happens, so long as it gets fixed...and from where I sit it looks like it is.
Individuals brazen enough to think they speak for everyone? *sigh*
I agree with this 100%
I love Inquisition, even with it's faults (which are few in the single player.)

After reading so many threads on the MP forum (and the PC thread for SP
) I initially thought this was the most negative gaming community I had been a part of in a long time.
I now realise it isn't negativity - it's simply despondence, and the frustration of playing a B-Grade product with a lot of existing bugs and issues.
Players found a game that has a heap of potential and is a little different from what's available for coop play.... had all of the great memories of ME3MP, and then had their excitement ground away by persistent bugs, lack of/poor communication from the developer, and seemingly random design choices that compound the feeling of being screwed (I mean the loot system primarily).
The quality of this game is not what we hoped for and the hope that it will improve is difficult to sustain with so little input from the only party that has control of that outcome - BIOWARE.
I don't want this to be a rant thread or for people to be banned (like some were for criticising the quality of this game). I do want people to post their support though if they want change and would continue to support this game should it be improved and supported properly by BW. I include actual community relations in that concept too.
Its hard to be positive when you eloquently described players as being despondent from playing a b-grade (that's being generous) multiplayer mode full of bugs and crashing problems. Multiplayer, that only has one game mode at that.
There's nothing else to say other than bioware dropped the ball on this multiplayer in a very big way. I don't think anyone realistically thinks they are going to add additional game modes or improve it at this point. I mean, too little too late....
If we are being honest its pretty safe to say that they aren't going to waste any sort of enormous effort on their part to make it better when its killed itself off at this point.

I do. Do I qualify as "anyone"? Or am I a nobody? Wait, don't answer that.

I don't expect game modes. Hell, they didn't even add new game modes to ME3MP so I'm not sure why "adding new game modes" is an expectation at all.
But DLC? New characters, weapons and maps? Hell yeah, that I'm expecting, and happily so.

In response to the question in the thread title: have you ever heard of the Fallout fandom?
The only thing wrong with fallout, is that Fallout 4 hasn't come out yet. I still get excited anytime I hear any news about it.

I agree to this. I bought this game for the SP but ended up spending way more time on MP. I still view it as a buy for the SP though. If I paid the same price ONLY for the MP part - I actually would feel ripped off.
I think all the crisism that has come out isnt really that they hate the game, it is the fact that they would love to play it without bugs, AND the hope for more content (like dragons) as they see huge unfulfilled potential.

One time I was permanently banned from MWO, I emailed the dev, asked nicely and they unbanned me.
Who permabans someone because some Russian German (who doesn't know how to play the game) uploads a video of a SINGLE team-kill? In a generic arena shooter?
Anyway I thought this was a funny anecdote. Let me see if I can find the video.

He just walks up and dumps on me, so I **** on his world. At this stage in the game the mech he was piloting was widely regardless as utterly trash. We joked and called them garbage cans. It's the statistically worst performing mech in the game.
So I'm slugging it with another Atlas and I am like "oh, thank god the garbage can is here to help" and he rolls up and strips my main center-torso armor.

Yeah it's not too bad here or at PGI's party, most games this limited have their greatest detractors move on. Not enough to cry about.
MMO communities and co-op competitive games like DOTA are the worst. MMO communities though.

Seems pretty much the same as any other gaming community. Same memes, same discussions, same sorts of people. The only difference I can see are that, for a game that has microtransactions, there's not a lot of complaints about it.

Personally, I really AM glad to "just play with my friends in the DA universe for the first time", as BioWare themselves put it. It's a fresh multiplayer game that's even more gear/skill/balancing based than ME3 by my limited judgement, so I actually never thought it was nearly as broken as whoever you quoted made it out to be.
It's actually the same story as with ME3: Slightly disappointed by the SP, unexpectedly delighted with the addition of an MP.

I think the single player part of this game is great... really great. That's what makes multiplayer so mind-boggling.... just... how?
