Origins no contest

I'm even replaying it right now, and enjoy the story, characters, combat, environment etc. basically everything

It makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

Inquisition? I might replay it to try out some new builds (because of the golden nug, if it weren't for that lol nope) or such but other than that no.

Origins is the better game. Inquisition has the better art direction, however.

The outcome of this pole is the exact opposite of my answer. Origins is third. (Only thing i miss about Origins is Dog) The order i'd put the other two in depends on how i feel on a certain day.

Origins. YOU GET ALISTAIR. (Hisses if someone says something bad about Alistair)

He missed Duncan way too much so I chopped his head at the Landsmeet then the two were finally reunited together! :P
I like the hiss!

Hint: RvD is DAO

Is Eamon a nasty, conservative schemer or a well-meaning but ineffectual father figure? Did Loghain make the right call at Ostagar? And the more I think about it, the more conflicted I am about assuming that the one thing Alistair is REALLY firm & convinced about (not being king) is the opinion we're most likely to ignore. And we're supposed to be his friend?

The characters in Inquisition that have the most depth are the ones who've evolved from game to game--seeing the changes in Leliana & Cullen, in particular, is really satisfying to me. They bring their past experiences to bear on their present & you can see where they've changed, where they've stayed the same, how they struggle. At the end of the day, that's probably my favorite thing about the game.

Eamon is   worse than Celine and Loghain did a poor job with him i would have chose Wyvern poison, also i take Alistair's words at the letter he doesn't want to be king and he miss Duncan hence the best outcome for him at the landsmeet  in my mind is the Execution so that he could met Duncan once again in the heaven and become a spirit.

the best charcters of DAI are Solas&Cassandra they are way more deep than anything in DAO aside from Flemeth

I thought Inquisition's art direction was kind of poor really, but it may come down to taste. The prettied-up environments paired with the uglied-up characters was not a good move in my opinion. The art direction never really connected to an overall theme, and everything seemed kind of half-assed High Fantasy.

The environments were beautiful though. The Fade, Crestwood, Emerald Graves, etc.

Both. They are both in the conversation for best game ever in my opinion. But then, Bioware does what I love the most the best: character and lore. Most of their games are in top 20 contention because of the character driven experience in well crafted worlds filled with lore. Only classic Squaresoft had as many games that fit that niche perfectly for me. Origins and Inquisition both gave me exactly what I wanted... And more. I mean, more Lelianna and Morrigan with great new characters and a game that lets me choose what to believe...

Now if only Bioware would do me the kindest favour and have a Morrigan/Lelianna litho <_<. Why aren't you taking my money.

Inquisition is one of the better RPGs I've played, but Origins is one of the best.

Dragon Age 2.  It had the best story, it was contently moving and everything I did felt like it mattered to the journey.  I like to watch Netflix when I play video games, not during the actual story (I hit pause) just the fighting.  In DA:O and DA:I I watched alot of TV as there was a lot of pointless fights most of witch weren't that hard and just felt like filler.  DA:I has the longest playtime due to filler not actual story, DA:O was good but had a lot of flaws and feels more like a cult classic.  DA 2 was the greatest one, by far.  Its a character driven plot where I actually care what happens to the party.

I dunno why this thread got necro'ed again, but at least since Trespasser came out I actually have an answer: Inquisition wins for me, by a narrow margin. It's a far better ending to DAI than Witch Hunt was to DAO, and it also caps off a lot of improvements to DAI that were made via patches and DLC. Inquisition is the only installment in the series so far that really got better after it came out, and that's why it's ultimately my favourite.

DA2>DAO>DAI.

They are all great, but in the end story is more important than polish. Hawke is stuck with the thankless job of dealing with a collapsing city and keeping the family safe. It's far more interesting than run-of-the-mill-save-the-world plots. Plus, DA2 has Isabela.

But really, they should played as a whole. Each game become more meaningful by playing the others - just playing DA2 must undoubtedly be a downer.

I'd like to add I found this thread topic misleading and confusing since it suddenly injected DA2 as a choice in OP.
