I have aspects I like about all 3 to be honest. (I don't appreciate the 'lol' beside DA2 bud)
I will give the vote to Origins because I have a lot of "in hindsight..." issues with Inquisition, something I never had with Origins.
Hawke is still my favourite protag though.

It's fashionable to dismiss DA2 these days not so much as hated but more as "DA2... yeah right." Hipsters, dude.

For me,
Origins > DA2 > Inquisition
I felt that overall DAO was more entertaining. DA2 could've beat DAO if it had less repeated environments, a much more expanded third act involving more political complications that should come with being the champion, there wasn't anything like the landsmeet or Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts in DA2. Act 3 should have carried on with the shitstorm-waiting-to-happen thing going on in Act 2 where we had the Viscount trying to maintain control in a city with impatient qunari, over zealous chantry conspiracies, corruption in the guard ,dwarves trying to profit from black powder, the viscount's son wanting to become qunari, and isabella racing against the qunari and tevinters trying to find the Tome of Koslun. If that intensity was brought into Act 3, I feel like DA2 would be my number 1. Inquisition is good, but it has too much filler.
Hawke > Warden > Inquisitor
I just connected way more with Hawke than any of the other protagonists. The Inquisitor feels like a default human far too often. There needed to be far more race specific dialogue. And I don't mean dialogue options I mean regular dialogue should have more elf, qunari, or dwarf flavour. I should hear words like shemlen, duster, paarshara coming from certain characters. DAO kinda had the same problem but it wasn't as bad because the main quest was very multicultural, but DAI was heavily focused on the Chantry. Dwarves, Dalish, and qunari would not talk about the Chantry like a human would.
DAI party > DA2 party > DAO party
In DAO, I liked Alistair, Morrigan, Zevran, I was meh about Sten, Oghren, Shale, and Wynne and I found Leliana extremely boring. In DA2, I LOVED Carver, Varric, Fenris, Aveline and Isabella, I liked Anders and Sebastion, I found Bethany extremely boring and I disliked Merril. In DAI I loved everyone, in fact I loved the first three party members more than anyone in DAO.

It is premature to make these lists and comparisons until DAI is complete with all patches and content released. DAI is still in its vanilla state, so there may be bias towards DAO and DA2.
In any case, I like them all and each had their part to play in the overall story. It's like asking me which Lord of the Rings book is my favorite. I just can't pick one.

Da2. seriously. and put that "lol" out please.
Da2 tried something different. Yes it was rushed, yes it has many flaws,
but the story (almost no filler except eavesdropping quests) , the character(s) , the combat itself (not the waves), rivalrly-friendship make up for it.
In fact i ve played more times da2 (4 times that is) than any other Da game.
Also playing da2 with the DLC makes for a way better experience.

Origins had my favorite protagonist, favorite companions, favorite classes and specialization. Loved Arcane Warrior and being able to play dual wield warrior. I like the combat the best, had the best tactical camera, and tactical combat. Best ending mission by far, I actually liked the ambushes while traveling. Loghain as much as I hated him was th enemy villain in the series, which isn't really saying much lol. Had a good variety of enemies to fight, and varied locations. Deep roads is still my favorite mission.
Inquisition I love the exploring, having multiple races back, and absolutely love the crafting aspect of the game. I'll reserve further judgment until DLC has been released to see if it makes use of some of the empty areas or adds anything.
Dragon Age 2, really wasn't much I liked about the game. City was dull and lifeless, when you got to leave you ran around the same areas over and over. For the most part only fought humans and demon. There seemed to be more criminals in the city than residents. The family aspect was wasted, they were there just to kill off but the game gave you no reason to care about them. You were told more of the ten years of your life than you were allowed to play. I felt like I was another seeker in the room listening to a story about someone named Hawke not playing an PC. The game demonized mages and Templars to an absurd level. Just didn't like the game at all.

Origins, if this lily white filler crammed game with forgettable companions is the 'Dragon Age game they always wanted to make' I wonder how the tightly focused, dark and compelling Origins ever happened.

I can find little or no fault with Origins. I've stated it before and I'll state it again: Origins is a masterpiece.
1. It had incredible array of choices for your protaganist. The storytelling was absolutely magnificent.
2. Voice acting was incredible and set the bar as well. The main and side quests were all worth doing. Replayability is a must. DLC were excellent.
3. Ease of playability with a mouse and a spacebar. I loved basically starting the fight and then whipping the mouseball around to follow the combat. It seemed more cinematic to me which leads to...
4. Tactics were awesome if you spent the time going through the "if this occurs, then use this" menu.
5. Not many class restriction items which meant even more flexibility.
6. Bioware's toolset made the game fresh and allowed the insanely talented and very active community to make mods. Some of those mods were well executed like the Winter Forge.
To me, Origins, just had everything while subsequent titles diminish with options.Origins set the bar, in my humble opinion. 12 runs and the game never got old. Call me crazy. Each time I finished a run, I would download a slew of new mods and holy cow... I couldn't wait to get going again.
Dragon Age 2 is my second favorite. Yeah, I'm one of those. It was a separate story from Origins, but it didn't stray too far. Hawke was a brilliant storyteller and I replayed it three times to completion using Hawke as tank, dps and a mage. And any story that keeps Sandal in the picture is precious.
It lacked modding and the console-looking UI took away from the game, but it didn't kill it.
Dragon Age Inquisition. Wasted opportunities and I have only one run under my belt even though Origin claims I have over 300 hours. I think messing with the system clock to advance wartable missions is responsible for that along with RESTARTING FROM THE DESKTOP. Gosh dawg it. The last four (and FINAL) preorder deluxe bundle I bought from EA (Awakenings, DA2, ME3 and SWTOR were not playable at launch) along with Inquisition. The storytelling was great (except Fiona), but the game flow was completely jacked. It felt less Dragon Age than ever.
I don't mean to be a sourpuss, but Inquisition won Game of the Year. I find that appalling, but yet many would say (with justification) that I'm out of touch.

Origins story was very safe, i prefer Inquisition, for the engine and because Inquisition will have others Dlc, DAO without the mods and the support of the community is nothing.

origins
If origins was touched up with new armor skins, character models and a voiced warden, it would stand out far above the others.
That said, i really enjoyed DA2's fantasy novel style story despites the heap of mechanical flaws it was still a very enjoyable experience, which goes to show how much i thought of the characters/story/pacing.
DA:I sits in this strange hybrid zone, where it does not do have the focus to excel in anything, though its characters are good so are the ones in the other games. and DA:I has tremedous amount of polish compared to the others, nothign really stands out (and many of the companion/inner circle are uninteresting)
They are all so different but each have their merits.

Origins>DA 2> Inquisition.
Inquisition's combat sucks and I hate the filler quests.
How can someone hate 'filler'-something and love DAO at the same time, I wonder?..
75% of the gameplay is inevitable and classic dungeon-crawling (kill, loot, rinse&repeate) sprinkled with some fetch quests.
Need the Urn? Have a dungeon. Need the Lady's heart? Have another dungeon. Need Branka? Have the longest dungeon. Need Anora? Are you sure? Like really? Well now, here's yet-another-little-dungeon for you.
DAO does have good characters, but same true for the rest of the games.
Yeah, I know it's kinda cool to love DAO (or even better - BG) and hate anything that remotely looks like The Wheel, and go like 'oh those good old RPGs...'
But let's be honest, DAO is not superior to DAI (or at least not THAT superior). It had boring and irrelevant kill\fetch-quests. It had 'help-us-OB1-Great-Warden-You're-our-only-hope' main plot. It even had 'collecting' quests (letters, messages etc etc).

Sadly, Origins.
Inquisition was announced as an improvement over DA:O and DA2, but didn't deliver.
They worried about bisexuality, romance, customization, but forgot the most important: the main plot.
Cullen, Blackwall and Dorian's romances were better plots than the main plot of the game.
I'm not kidding.

On the last point, it's all a matter of opinion after all, but you're right about the dungeons. Dungeons. Everywhere. I love DA:O's story, but a lot of it really was extensive dungeon crawling, especially the friggin' Deep Roads. I get why people loved the Deep Roads, but with every replay, the more I loathe those Maker-forsaken tunnels.
