I hated the companions in DA:O( except Morrigan & Sten )
No sense of exploration.
No crafting.
Dull muddy appearance.
And last but not least...Alistair, **** you Alistair.
Although, I do miss some of the I'm crazy stupid evil choices.

DAI > DAO > DA2
Inquisition in my opinion had the better caste of characters, including a better Player Character, which is what puts it over DAO for me, DAO had the better narrative and story pacing though. Both of those are good games in their own right though.

Origins. I'd never played a game that grabbed me by the feels like that one. (At least until ME3, but I enjoyed the destination more in DA:O.)
I liked how the final battle brought together all the different factions we had worked hard to recruit. I liked the "lover, life or integrity: choose two" dilemma. It really felt like I could craft an affecting story that had different outcomes depending on the choices I made. Having shoutouts to the different origins throughout the game was genius.
I liked Inquisition but didn't feel as attached to the NPCs or as invested in the story. Don't get me wrong, the NPCs were well written and more realistic than the ones in DAO, but apart from Cassandra I didn't get that emotionally attached to them. The ending was ok, but not a high point. The Arbor Wilds and the boss fight didn't have the "here we go, this is what we've been preparing for" feel that the Battle of Denerim did.
I did not like DA2. Hawke was an annoying stranger whose story I felt I could barely control and I found most of the companions dreary. Even the ones I liked. I also felt railroaded into a bad ending, which is probably more realistic but not what I'd call fun.

Origins by far. Inquisition had a chance pre summer '14 then all the bad news came in and even after release it left further disappointment. Wasn't bad by any means but I think its safe to say that with how bioware is today, there will never be a DA that will be as memorable as DAO

DA:O>DA:I>DA2
Better combat (proper iso camera, click to move, real auto attack, more useful tactics) and more player agency in conversations are the main mechanical aspects that put DAO over the top. More appealing companions (esp LI) for my personal tastes in DAO also help a lot. I also prefer the less stylized artistic direction of DAO.
But there are some redeeming qualities in DAI also. I think Dorian is my favorite companion in DAI but I will confess to really developing a lot of appreciation for Cassandra too. The graphical quality is obviously pretty good and open world has its charms. Crafting is significantly better in DAI than DAO. DAI is a really good game. However, DAO is a truly great game IMO.
I simply don't enjoy the endless hack/slash of DAI combat and still really miss being able to talk to companions on the road.
DA2 simply doesn't compare to either DAO or DAI IMO. So many issues. Nuff said.

Just began another Origins run right now
For me it's Origins > Inquisition> II
Story wins sliiiiiiiiightly more over Inquisition. But exploration/crafting wise, Inquisition beats the original.

Definitely Origin.
There is not more dialogue with companions and your choices actually matters.

The reasons you dislike Origins are exactly the reasons I love it, except for the "No crafting". I absolutely love Inquisition crafting.
That's why forums will always be about war and not love, you seem to like exploration, I absolutely dislike exploration, there you go infinite complaining...
They could at least alternate between the games. I spend all my willpower to bear Inquisition (extremely boring) exploration, I couldn't take another one like that.
If they alternate between DA2s and DAIs I guess it will all be ok. I can stand loving Bioware for 4 years and then hating for the next 4 years and so on.
I prefer Origins but I know Origins will not happen again that's why I said between DA2 and DAI.

In terms of my enjoyment:
1. DA2
2. DAO
3. DAI
DA2 and DAO I played multiple times, DAI I cant bring myself to play more than once.

The fact that pacing is left to players seems to be problematic for many. If you pace yourself "correctly" the game will feel vast and intricate, if you try and attempt speed run, or try to do everything in one pt, it can become very frustrating.

Origins by a long way.
Inquisition is a game with few redeeming qualities in my opinion. (A few of the characters were okay though)
But origins was far far better.

Origins
Inquisition is a Michael Bay movie in game form.
You killed me with that.
Anyway, I vote for Origins.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Origins, I really did. But there is just something from a game playing perspective about not having to cringe every time you cast certain spells because there is a better than average chance they may well cause an immediate crash. Or just becoming progressively unplayable the longer you play it without restarting it completely. Actually, it rather amuses me that people screaming how much better Origins was never seem to remember the problems it definitely did have. Said problems did not, mind you, make it unenjoyable. Something I wish people would keep in mind when whining about Inquisition.
Also, I never hated DA2. It took me a bit of getting used to because it was a different style, but it was a different game, so big whoop. Yeah, they reused areas, but they redid the interior each time. It wasn't like it was the SAME. Still, I at least get that gripe, even if it was overblown even more than the recent historic blizzard to hit New York City. In fact, I'd say DA2 had a far superior story to tell than DAO, imho.
All of the above just to say that I cannot rank them against each other because they are all great in their own way, but also have their own little weaknesses. None of which make any game unenjoyable. So, from a nostalgia POV, I would probably say Origins, but if I have to be really honest, it's gotta be...
DAO = DA2 = DAI
