I think you are screwed, OP
Did you made her divine? If yes, she has no time for you, if no she probably doesn't see any future with you. In any case no Viv for you.

I think that's debatable, to be honest. I would personally prefer more development and exposition on the existing romances over getting new options.
That! And more ;D I want it all.. but in all seriousness, the Devs have said that they will not make DLCs with new companions, because of reasons, I'm too lazy to write them here : P I'd be happy if they just added much, much more depth to the romances already in game. Their advancement was way too spread out across the main story that I felt I had to rush through just to get more of the good stuff, skipping most of the exploring. It hurries the player to advance in the game too much and it also made me feel that the romances were rushed. The only game I've delved into romance quicker than here was in Skyrim. Amulet of Mara = the ultimate bachelor/-ette. xD They should add general-story and romance content into the vast areas you can explore. In other words; include the exploring into the story-line better, in a way more visual way...
Their advancement was way too spread out across the main story .
Who did you romanced? I really liked the way Cullen's spreads out and intertwines with the story, of course sticking to mages and have the Samson arc probably helps too.
In previous games I sort of felt that the romance was something more separated and you had three "game break" moments, 1 - initiate, 2 - assert 3 - conclude. Always felt kind of awkward. This time around main quest, personal quest, little cutscenes here and there and romance all blended together rather nicely imo.

Why not do both? Still dream of a dlc Citadel + Awakened
Oh, is this a genuine thread? My bad
*Disgusted noise*
Nope. I would like the existing romances to be expanded during whatever DLC there is, though.
I think the most you can probably hope for is some expansion for Harding if we get a companion-focused DLC. Before release Bioware said that there were good reasons why Vivienne wasn't a romance, and I don't see them going back on that position.
Plus, I always found Viv's relationship with her lover rather ambiguous. Sure, she was upset when he dies. That doesn't necessarily mean he was the love of her life and she's going to pine over him. She kind of talks out of both sides of her mouth, at time implying they love each other a great deal, and at other times implying their relationship is more a business arrangement where her lover gets sex and she gets status and power.
Why not both? I mean, Viv obviously got influence out of the arrangement, but it's also obvious that she cares very deeply for Bastien. If you ask her about him, she sounds warmer than she does at any other time, and then has difficulty finishing her story because of her grief. She was genuinely in love with him. That doesn't mean, however, that she also didn't use his position to her advantage. That's just the way she is.
You also have to remember the timeframes involved here. Judging from what she says, it seems that this relationship with Bastien had lasted a very long time. They met when she was a young circle mage, after all. I got the impression, then, that she'd been with him for a good chunk of her life. Even though they could not officially marry (because Viv is a mage and Bastien had to marry for political connections) their relationship lasted as long as a marriage. That's not something you just move on from in under a month.

Yet the relationship between the Inquisitor is the Vivienne could be explore

Same novel Cassandra and he becomes divine

But Bioware have said that her relationship with Bastien is why they didn't make her a romance. Her writer obviously didn't want to write a romance between her and the Inquisitor. And after playing the game, I've got to agree that it would've been weird. You don't just bounce back from a 20-something year relationship that quickly. Any romance after that would've felt like she was trying to use the Inquisitor to compensate for her grief.

Sure they intertwine, but not enough xD I want moar!! More depth, more to explore. You never really get to know your LI any deeper. There's not enough passion.
I've romanced Cullen twice, Solas twice, Blackwall once and Dorian once. I'm now building towards romancing Josie and Cassandra. Yes, the cutscenes are great, and the personal quests are great. But there is nothing in between. Very few banters have anything to do with the romances, so far I've had one relationship related banter, and that was while romancing Dorian(hoping that's just the bug tho), the war-table missions have no impact on the world around you to any bigger extent. When, and more if, clan Lavellan dies for example, no-one cares. In DA:2 you got atleast some comfort when your mother died....
"They died, deal with it cause ain't no one got time to be comforting you, neither do we have time to even mention it a bit..."
No comfort there... nor out in the world, I'd expect some kind of interaction if the LI is a party member. Add some random cutscenes there then, while exploring.. Add more interaction between the LI and the Inquisitor in general, it's a big world after all.
It's like the romances only exist within the walls of Haven/Skyhold. I want my LI to get worried at least once when I get injured in a battle. xD or pick her/him a random flower while out exploring.. something, anything that would bring more realistic depth to it all. And yes, I do understand that some of these things could be difficoult to manage in practice, and I can imagine the groans and moans it would bring out in some people. I know there are always multiple sides to everything, this is just what my heart yearns for considering the game and it's romances. :3 I do enjoy the game still.
Just for the sake of argument, why not have that? After Bastien dies, Viv latches on to the biggest political prize of all: the Inquisitor. You're telling me she's not cold and calculating enough to do that? I beg to differ. And if the PC is ok with that type of relationship, why not?
I do think that's probably the only way the relationship could go. However, there are three reasons why I don't think this would've ever been in the cards. First: limited resources. The game already has 8 romances. That is a ton. And every one of them requires new cinematics and voice acted lines. Romances in Inquisition already feel a bit on the thin side.
Second: it would ****** people off. When going into a romance, people usually expect there to be actual feelings involved from the other party. Having a "romance" that's purely for political gain isn't most people's cup of tea. I've already seen people who were rather squicked out by Blackwall having sex with the Inquisitor while lying about his true identity. If the endgame for Viv's romance is that she's just using the Inquisitor for influence, then people would be mad. Even if she went into the relationship saying exactly that, there would be the expectation that The Power of Love would be able to change her mind (like Morrigan), and I honestly couldn't see that happening with Vivienne.
Third: Bioware have said that they give a character a romance if they feel that the story/characterization would benefit from it. I can't see a romance with Vivienne adding to her characterization. We already get to see her softer side in the context of her romance with Bastien and her attempt to save him. And we already know how politically ruthless she is. Of course, only her writer could say how any romance might have gone, but if Mary Kirby had really wanted to tell that story, then she would have. The way Solas's romance happened was that Patrick Weekes went home for the weekend and then came back to the office with an entire romance plot. He wanted to tell that story because it shows a side to the character that you wouldn't see any other way. So, in the end, it's the writer's call. You can't force them to write something that they aren't particularly interested in exploring.
Any resemblance to Morrigan is coincidental
I want my LI to get worried at least once when I get injured in a battle.
Cullen's prayer scene! And there is a line in Samson quest too. I wonder if other romances have this sort of thing.
But yes more interaction (of any kind, not just romantic) is always welcome.

That somehow in DAO, as limited as it was, was present in DAo. having the chance to talk to the characters and kiss the LI when we wanted, was always cute, and let think we where with peoplealways, not only in skyhold/Haven.
It seem quite rigid that, banter aside (and thanks, bug who doesn't let those trigger.
) in all the time Inquisitor and companion are around the world they don't speak with each other. The chance to speak during a banter are very few, and feels more like a cheap way to not incluce a more cinematic dialogue.
If at least at the camps we could talk a little...

Because it's not a feasible solution from the developer's point of view. DLC is fundamentally more limited in scope than a full-fledged game, even in the form of an expansion. Prioritization becomes increasingly important.
This thread reminds me of that one thread where someone couldn't get over the fact Morrigan was straight and downloaded a mod to make her lesbian. Then complained the keep doesn't import her decision to Inquisition.
What made it even more creepier is how she wanted to use babysitting Kieran as an excuse of getting closer to Morrigan.

wuuuuutt???
No wonder I stayed away from this place for as long as I did, heh.
Viv no.
Harding yes. All of my yes. Yesser the yess yessist.
Every time Vivienne speaks i feel like Nails down a Blackboard.. I like how Sera knocks her down a notch in party banter, i really like Sera in this game.
I always had a soft spot for the mad ones.
I wouldn't say Sera knocks down Vivienne at all. She's a foul mouthed peasant and barely a speck of dirt on Vivienne's radar - if Sera truly succeeded at pissing off Vivienne she'd be little more than a pile of gore after a no doubt impressive display of Vivienne's powers.
Jaheira was a romance option in BG2 and her husband's corpse wasn't even cold. I think that kind of thing is weird and I wouldn't pursue it, but it has happened before.
I would really like additional content for the romances that are already in the game. I've only gone through Dorian's and Blackwall's so far, but they both seem to have odd pacing. It seems like I can get through most of Dorian's romance right after getting to Skyhold. Blackwall's seems to stretch through the main plot better, but it doesn't seem like there's enough after his big secret is revealed and dealt with.
