Mostly this is about the dwarven carta armour and Dalish warrior armour. The Carta armour is just a random drop, there is no schematic available anywhere for you to make your own. Meanwhile, the Dalish warrior schematic is a random drop that people have to waste time unsuccessfully farming or get lucky. Why not have these available as preset schematics? By that, I mean assign them to a shop, quest reward, boss fight, or specific chest so that people can reliably access these schematics. It shouldn't be down to random loot generation. There isn't much armour variation in the game, but it could be improved if unique armour sets were readily available as schematics.

It would also be nice if some of the many NPC armour/robes were available for the Inquisitor as schematics. And if the qunari Inquisitor could have a race-specific armour too. But that's an additional request.

Edit: Apparently there is a schematic for the Carta armour, but it's another annoying random drop. Please, Bioware, pop these schematics in a shop!

I vote for more mask schematics/variations.

I would have preferred to personalise an Orlesian mask and not just rely on loot from Celene/Florianne.

Fashion Demands This!!!

Agreed. It would be nice if we could buy any/all scematics from vendors.

I don't like that my ability to customize my character's armor is hindered by random chance, especially when there's not all that many and some are just higher tiers of other schematics. I would gladly have more material tiers, and 0 schematic tiers, so schematics would only vary by type.

Also, I learned a new word today.

That would be great! I can rarely find headgear I like, so customising some Orlesian masks would be cool. Could match the Inky's outfit too, so Vivienne won't be scandalised, ha. Kind of want to steal Vivienne's hats. And Cole's. They get some very striking headgear!

Exactly, it sucks being dependent on random drops, especially considering some are race locked. I could play a million elves, but if the Dalish armour doesn't drop on them, and only on my Qunari character, then it's worthless (except to sell). They should be readily available. removing tiers isn't a bad idea either, especially if it put the focus on the materials you use instead.

Agreed. Too many armors are already hard to obtain, the very least one can do is provide the schematic without the tedious RNG looting.

Im willing to bet they'll release more armour and hairstyles as DLC.

$9.99 for a (random) set of armor and a (random) hairstyle

Available only in multiplayer. (And the hairstyle is not visible, it only adds to various stats, ie 3% Bleed Chance)

Leaving so many schematics stuck in the RNG system was a daft idea. I don't know why the devs did that.

At the very least, every single schematic should have either been possible to buy from one merchant or other, or available in a fixed location.

Mostly this is about the dwarven carta armour and Dalish warrior armour. The Carta armour is just a random drop, there is no schematic available anywhere for you to make your own.

Um...

Carta Hat, Carta Coat and Dwarven Helm are all T2 RNG loot chest drops. The legion of the dead armor is in one of the tombs in the hissing waste. I got it in the Tomb at the top of the hill east north east of the starting camp but some people have said they got it in the final tomb behind the giant lizard.

I would like to remove the race restrictions entirely and have fereldan warrior armor available as a schematic for my Qunari..

I don't think we can blame OP for not knowing the Schematics exist if they only come in as RNG drops in an optional area.

And is there no Tier 3 version? That's annoying. I'll go ahead and double down on my wanting to drop schematic tiers in the next DA game.

I agree with the OPs main shematics concern and also with the wish for some of the npc armor/robes available as schematics. (for instance I want that armor horsemaster Dennets wife gets to wear! :D Not to mention a Morriganish "chasind witch robe"...)

Boss drops or vendors would be nice - also vendors could use some upgrades to be more exiting, might be just the thing they need.

Reloaded hundreds of times allready in front of T2 chests to find the dalish warrior set - wich I want for my mage, to have more style options and an armor that shows a bit of skin, like our companions do. My Inqui gets stuffy buttoned up all the time.

No luck so far, not seen that carta armor either while farming. And finding a chest now really starts to eats away from the adventuring feel = "arrgh, should I start the reload rumba again ?"

My reload song:

"where hiding from the fighting, reloading, for the clothing...still reloading...still no clothing..."

Yeah, we need more armour for Qunari.

Yes, poor qunari should be on the top of the list for devs working on new armor. And something qunarish, something like The Bull and the multiplayer qunari char get. With skin showing.

I've seen the Legion one, which is why I didn't mention it. If there is a Carta schematic, that's good, but still falls under the other problem I mentioned - getting these schematics shouldn't be based on random luck. Especially not if they're race-locked armour. Not much good getting the Carta schematic on my qunari playthrough but not on my dwarf.

Great suggestion, but more of everything.. We need Weapons, Armor, schematics you name it 200 per race added

(more slots in crafted Armor) kinda defeats the point of extra armor pieces..

I know i wont be popular but if they added more weapons, armor and schematics in a pack for 9.99 100 per race, i'd buy them..

I'd prefer it free because really the game should have had it originally anyway..

For existing Schematics, I would like it if they were all available at a shop (the Tactician's Renewal shop next to Harritt would be a good spot) so we don't have to save scum for them.

As for selling DLC weapons or items, maybe if they had DA2's "Improves with Level Up" attribute and the cost was reasonable (IIRC it was $4.99 for one of the DA2 All-Class Item combo packs, that would be a fair price imo).

I absolutely agree!

It is unnecessarily frustrating to hope for the random chance in obtaining schematics for armor as well as weapons.

It should all be available from the very start from merchants (from the lowest level 1 stuff, all the way through to level 3 masterworks).

In order to make it a little more challenging to get, make them expensive. But for the love of God, stop with this stupidity of only getting the good stuff at the end of the game when you no longer need it!

Another thing I would have loved to see is that you automatically received the schematics for any gear you loot.

I know there is a perk that does something like it, but even that is more random than reliable.

To balance things out, obtaining high level materials could be made harder, but at least you'd be free to craft whatever "look" you want for your gear from the start (Maker knows, I look so damn ridiculous in that tinfoil and cardboard Defender mail!)

Schematics should all have been awaialble to buy from merchants. Is ridicolous: my mage Qunari found the scematics for the elven armour. Who care now, since I have played an elf before?!?!?!

I'm fine find the schematics at random. but they should be in shops too. So if I find them around, and I actually need them, I can save some money, but like this is ridicolous, and frustrating.

That won't actually happen, because it wouldn't work with the way multiplayer was designed.

They will likely charge money for the additional SP armour sets that they release, whenever they get around to that.

this will be the the 3rd time I have brought this up but I thing there should be a larger variety of armour across the board by which I mean different looking styles that can be modded it gets boring looking a what essentially the same armor throughout the entire game no matter what tier it is short coat or trench coat ar the only modable choices we have give us the ability to craft morigans armor or Liliana's armor and make it so w can modify all armor

If they charge money for SP DLC... nope. not gonna buy it.. Already paid $90 AUD to beta test this bloody game off origin.. not giving them any more.

Indeed.  RNG is such a horrible thing at times.  I can go so long without finding a sweet piece of gear to use on one file, and getting a tier-3 weapon that flat out dominates all enemies super-super early the next.  My dwarf rogue's been rocking some sweet tier-3 dual blades since mid-Hinterlands.  Sure, they weren't made with tier-3 materials, but they still over-power just about everything.  And since that schematic's unlocked, all weapon drops are pointless now, just need to hunt down better materials and voila.

And I do agree, Qunari are SEVERELY lacking in unique equipment.  Sure, the vitaar is unique to them alone, but it can't be crafted or customized, you're left to the mercy of RNG or a lot of wasted time as you hunt down all the stuff needed to get the ONE unique one in the game.  And there are no Qunari only armors.  None.  Warriors could definitely rock something similar to the Arishok, Rogues could get something akin to Tal-Vashoth-style gear, Mages could rock a Saraabas armor.

I feel like the game revolves around trenchcoat scheme...I kinda felt like I was playing guild wars 2 with medium armor (except that all the armor types in inquisition have lots of trenchcoats)

They had so much variety in the previous games, and I see the npcs wearing some of those armors, so you know the skins are in there

The inquisitor should have access to more of those,

or at least some different version of them, more variety would be welcome indeed

And a merchant that sells all schematic tiers for your level (when you reach those levels), would be awesome, but probably only in a mod

It's really grindy to rely on the rng system to get schematics

I'd love to see the elven mage armor available as  relatively easily gained schematic....some of the race armors tend to have to most 'unique' and/or interesting appearances. Definitely would love to see them come into play more often.

And yes to the Qunari armors! I didn't realize how limited they were until I made a warrior Adaar and found myself scrounging for decent armor that also looked good (what can I say :P)
