I have encountered a problem where Power points required for War Table missions disappear or get drastically low after completing one of main plot quests, and I have no idea why. I had 100+ Power points and they got lowered to something over 10 out of nowhere after I went to do Here Lies the Abyss (and it should have taken 20), and the same thing happened when I picked previous main plot quests (happened during Dorian's time travel quest). Now I have to pick some Power again to unlock next quest, despite the fact I already had enough points to do so.

It bugs me a lot since I could run out of side quests to get Power to advance further in main plot. Has anybody had a problem like that? Is there any way to fix this?

Never seen that, the missions take the power they state is required. Unlocking new areas also takes power so, perhaps you are doing that and not realizing you are spending power to do it. Building bridges, moving boulders, etc... nearly all of the Zero time missions take power (except getting mounts)

As for running out of ways to get power - nah. I usually end the game with well over 400 extra power.

No, I kept a track on my Power points and where I spent them, it can't be that. I checked my points before I started the quest, I had 124 Power, and when I moved to the area, I suddenly had 14 of them. And I should have had 104. I am aware of how using power points works, I just have no idea why my game has troubles with counting points necessary for main quests. Like I said, it happens only when I pick main missions.

A friend of mine said they had similar problem, their points got drastically lowered after completing some mission, and it kept happening until they started a new game.

I don't know what could possibly cause that, I don't even have any mods installed. I'll try to reinstall the game, maybe this will help somehow.

If that's the case, without starting a new game, the best I can suggest is using Cheat Engine to give yourself power points. I don't use it for that, but, I don't have the glitch you have. I use it to make my toon wear armor in Skyhold and, a nice side effect of that one is that helmets show in cut scenes if equipped and not disabled in the options panel.
