I'd like to see a feature added to the Next DA game that included deeper party banter and conversations.

I LOVED the fact that in DAI I could occasional comment on topics my party was discussing, while roaming around the world.

I LOVED in previous games that I could turn to one of my companions while questing and start a conversation with them, rather than have 'all' these interactions happen at Skyhold/Haven/Normandy.

Please allow us the opportunity to turn to a party member, while questing, and start a random conversation.  For example, a dialogue wheel of 3 topic options that you could ask any party member.

To add to the 'living breathing world feeling', allow 'other party members to then chime-in on that conversation, as if they were 'right there', listening.

If you want to go the extra mile, even allow for approval and disapproval.  Allow the PC to crack jokes, talk smack, encourage, admonish, and praise the various party members.

I believe this level of interaction would be unparalleled in the RPG genre and would likely allow Bioware to set the Bar even higher for player interaction and engagement.

That or give us a DLC where there is no combat, just interacting, going to taverns, a street fair, something with companions. I'd pay for it even if it were just a banquet in Skyhold where they were free to move about, mingle have a conversation that meat something with me, etc...

You know, I wouldn't mind being able to approve/disapprove of companions when talking, or even if they were to actually make decisions themselves during their personal drama quests... and if there is too much disapproval, be able to kick them out or biff them... even kill if warranted. ;)

Why is it that the player has to be observed and judged but we can't do the same?

I dunno. On the one hand, that sounds cool and fun. On the other hand.... I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally started a conversation with my companions in DAO while I was trying to do something else...

By the way, it's funny because in the Story & Characters subforum there's a thread asking for less conversation...

Isn't that what people think DA:2 is? ;)

Can't speak for anyone else, but the dialogue in DA2 was great. I just want them to take it to the next stage, and redefine conversations in RPG games.

This is what I miss THE MOST.  :(

That and zooming in on the companions' faces while interacting. The DAI system is fine in this respect I suppose, but would be better if you could zoom properly in with the camera.

In other words, just keep doing what you're doing, Bioware, but make it even better in the future :)

I'm thinking they can keep Inquisition's banter system but with more frequent plays and perhaps a point of interest system like in Mass Effect 2 where certain parts of the areas are highlighted for a specific character to comment on. I liked how it sometimes triggered entire banters between characters in ME2 even when it just said "Talk to Miranda" in the prompt.

I remember in Origins there were a few times a party companion could interrupt your conversation with another companion.

If you were a female warden somewhat romancing (purposely or not) both Zevran and Alistair, Zevran would make a hissy noise (I may be paraphrasing on his exact words here :P) if you tried to make out with Alistair in the middle of your adventuring in front of Zevran. It was quite funny.

The idea, though, of having your companions occasionally chime in uninvited would be great to see. Hope they can implement it in later installments :)

Bioware has not had the ability to randomly start conversations outside of a set conversation area since DA:O. i.e., in 2009, and DA:O was in development before ME, which never had this ability. I'm not saying it shouldn't be included - to the contrary. I think your idea is great - but I wouldn't except them to go this way.

I wonder why they got rid of this. If chatting with companions in the field triggers the same 3rd person convo in skyhold, this shouldn't be a big issue. Although I did find it quite annoying when I accidentally talked to the companions while I am trying to interact with other things in DAO...
