Finally made a good looking Shepard , now I just need to figure out which class I wanna be throughout the whole series lol. These are the ones I'm interested in...

Adept
This was my first class I finished the game as , in ME and ME2 by the time I got to ME3 real life happened and I had to stop my playthrough (those files are deleted so I can't just pick up and go again) I must have thought it was fun since I finished 2 games as one.

Vanguard
Ah yes Vanguard everyone's favorite high risk high reward , fast gameplay with a nice shotgun on hand. Who needs to play defensively when you can just bum rush your enemies. In ME3 it's even better with Nova lol

Soldier
Easy class , sadly in ME it's the only class that's able to use Heavy Armor D: and I want to wear me some heavy armor. In ME2 your able to change your ammo type "neat" you also get the POWER TO SLOW DOWN TIME!...sorta , as for ME3 from the looks of it he doesn't change much lol.

Play all 3

I like the adept. I did a playthrough without firing my weapon unless the game required me to.

Vanguard I've played a couple times. Charge, nova the whole time. Not a bad class to play

I've played soldier the most. I did a playthrough on insanity and never had to get to cover at all. I just ran forward killing the enemy with ease.

I'd suggest Vanguard. A nice mix of biotics and weapon damage. Adept is boring to me in ME3, I did only one run and had to use assault rifles and shotguns to make it interesting :) Soldier can be a fun class, especially with some unique bonus power. I did a Flare soldier run once, was quite fun.

From the looks of it I might be leaning towards Soldier , I really...wanna wear heavy armor lol

You can use a glitch to wear heavy armor as any class. Here is a video on how to do it :)

Vanguard - My first ever class. It's fun, but you it can get really repetitive with the constant use of charge and/or nova. Charge in ME2 and ME3 also has a really bad habit of not working when you need it to.

Soldier - The MEBoss, CEO, King, if you like, and my most favourite class. Ain't nobody got anything on the soldier, dude got the guns, the grenades, the best 3 ammo powers, meaning he can set up and detonate all three elemental combos, concussive shot and can slow down time. Ain't  no punk getting near him.

Why do you feel you have to stay with one class the entire trilogy? I rarely do that.

Just ignore those people, they're just salty that the Soldier class is far more popular than their favourite class. A bunch of hipsters, the lot of em.

I do not think I recall anyone ever saying the Soldier was a noob class. Typically the 'complaint' is that it is a boring class. Personally, I have never found the Soldier class boring, although I have called it 'one-note' before. But sometimes I just want to shoot stuff and the Soldier is a great class for that.

As for Heavy Armor in ME1... the heavy versions of Colossus and Onyx definitely look better than their medium/light counterparts. For other armors, they all look terrible or medium looks better (to me anyway).

I think I've switched classes more than 10 times within one playthrough. :)

People always make the terrible mistake of playing the Soldier like they would in any other shooter, hiding behind cover and popping their heads out to shoot, that's why people find it boring. If people played it the same way they play the the Sentinel or Vanguard, i.e. aggressively, they would find that not only is it a much more effective way of playing the Soldier, but also extremely fun.

There's nothing better than going ham with Inferno grenades and concussive shots, whilst raining down inferno Harrier gunfire onto enemies.

I love the Infiltrator, it just seems a bit too easy. The most challenging is definitely Vanguard on Insanity ...  I swear I reloaded Horizon a hundred times

I think all classes are fine, but in your case, since you had previous experience, I would suggest just finish with Adept in ME3, so you can really appreciate how the same class has evolved throughout the series. You can always try other ones in new playthroughs.

Personally I'd probably just mod my game to let me wear whatever armor I want. Though I'm on PC so I have that advantage.

If your primary reason for soldier is just to wear the Heavy Armor... Just want you to know that ME2-ME3 drop the 'heavy-light' system. After ME1 you'll be able to wear whatever you want.

Since you played at Biotic before maybe go with Soldier and give it a go. Though playing a biotic in ME1 and switching over to soldier in ME2 is also an option.

Really? In ME2  I wanted to wear Eclipse mercenary armor and in ME3 I wanted to wear Alliance marine armor, yet i'm stupidly restricted to sets of armor that exclusively restricted for Shepard. You gotta wonder what N7 pieces were doing all around the galaxy when only Shepard could wear them.

Not only Shepard. N7 marines can wear them too. Just look at soldiers at Cyone

1. You're taking me far too literally and I suspect you know it.

2. There are PC mods that will let you wear those armors. Sometimes through Coalesced edits and other times with a simple texmod file. It can be done.

Aggressive Soldiers are awesome fun, especially if you give the Soldier the Claymore in ME2 and ME3.

For me, it's Cerberus Harrier + Wraith, nothing can stand in my way.

I've thought about adding a light Pistol like the Predator to my armoury, but I'm not sure whether I would actually use it or not.

Soldier class is what I play as almost exclusively. It's pretty boring, even on insanity. You have the power to slow down your perception of time while simultaneously increasing your health and doubling your damage output (Adrenaline Rush is, IMO, by far the most useful ability), you can carry every gun (which is more or less effective on every enemy), and you already a tank with ammo types that shred any kind of armor in your way.

Seriously, the game becomes a joke with the Soldier class. I'd even venture to say it's OP, even in the campaign.
